The architecture remains virtually unchanged from the initial Harry Colt style, and with over 80 bunkers, it is a challenging test. Owing to drives landing on upslopes on a variety of holes, like the two Par 5s, the course continues to play longer than its yardage. Also, the best golfers will be challenged by the four Par 3 holes. Modern agronomy and green keeping practices have improved our playing surfaces even further, and our course is now known for its hard, sloping greens, where a 3-putt is not unusual.
