Most Improved Clubs: The Netherlands - Golfers' Choice Rankings 2025

As you are probably aware, we have many different categories in the Golfers' Choice Rankings. Besides the rankings for "Best Golf Club" and "Best Golf Course", we used to have 8 other categories.

Last year, we decided to add an 11th category. The all-new "Most Improved Golf Clubs" category looks specifically at how the average rating for all reviews of a golf club in 2024 compares with the average rating for all reviews in 2023. Which golf clubs have made the most improvements and increased their rating the most in the past year?

Zwolle Golf Club is an easily accessible golf club with a high level of member involvement, a good sporting culture at the highest national level and a beautiful 18-hole golf course.

Located in the heart of the courtyside near Groningen you will find the beautiful golf course of Golfclub De Compagnie. In a nature reserve of over 90 hectares, you will experience the peace, space and elements that make every round a real challenge. Characteristic of De Compagnie are the many strategically located water features that form a perfect unity in the landscape with the interesting differences in height throughout the course. The greens are large, have a lot of slope and are guarded by various bunkers. The 18-hole A-status Championship Course was designed by golf course architect Gerard Jol.

Since its founding in 1956, our club has been known for its beautiful hilly course, sportsmanship and hospitality. In addition to a challenging course and excellent practice facilities, we offer the friendly atmosphere of a real members' club. Guest players are of course very welcome.

The club is beautifully tucked away in the hills. The course – the highest in the Netherlands – is located in the middle of a vast nature reserve and is an oasis of tranquillity. The first 9 holes are in a wooded area, while the second 9 stretch across the rolling landscape and offer beautiful views.

The Crossmoor golf course is a true championship course, challenging and varied and suitable for golfers with a wide range of handicap categories. The famous course architect Joan Dudok van Heel designed the first 9 holes, his colleague Hans Hertzberger was responsible for the other 9 holes that were opened in 1988.

There are excellent practice facilities, including an attractive Par 3 (9 holes), which can also be used by less advanced golfers.

The 18 holes are located in the quiet Laurabossen nature reserve, far from traffic noise. The natural boundary is formed on the one hand by the Laurabos, and on the other by the meandering Tungelrooysche brook. The most striking feature is the great variety of trees.

In southwest Drenthe, between Havelte and Uffelte and bordering the Holtingerveld nature reserve, lies the beautiful 18-hole course of Golf Club Havelte, which was founded in August 1986. The first 9 holes are situated on a slightly hilly terrain with a landscape of hedgerows and trees, while the second 9 holes have a more park-like character. Several water features and old trees increase the level of difficulty. The driving range and the pitching and putting greens are located close to the clubhouse. You will always receive a warm welcome in our clubhouse and on our large terrace!
