Mesaieed Golf Club (Umm Sa'id)

Built by oil workers many moons ago, this is a desert course in the true sense of the word. You will be sold a small astro turf mat to take with you and, if your ball lands on the fairway, you pick it up and hit off the mat. If you're not on the fairway, you take your chances off the desert sand. Greens are actually black, made from flattened tar. If that all sounds odd, it actually works quite well once you get used to it. There's a nice pool as part of the clubhouse area at the end if you bring your trunks and fancy a dip. A charming course to experience if you're ever in the area.
