Golf De Saint Cloud

Driving up to the clubhouse, you know you have made a great choice. The vastness is impressing. It just checks all the boxes. Walking inside you get a lovely reception, inducing coffee and all you need at 8 am. The course was in great condition, although it was very dry the last week's. Greens were perfect. And Harry Colt did a great job designing it. Do visit the course and get amazed yourself!

Peccato per la giornata di pioggia, molta pioggia. Campo tenuto molto bene e divertente. Pro-shop da migliorare non aveva palline con il logo e cappelli per la pioggia. Successivamente ho richiesto con email di inviarmi la pallina (dietro pagamento ovviamente) e non ho mai ricevuto risposta

Arrivé dans un cadre superbe. Infrastructure top. Club house magnifique. Plusieurs Green approche etc. J'ai joué le vert superbe parcours pas évident. Beaucoup de dénivelé. À partir du 5 il faut être en jambe :).

It’s almost unimaginable where this course is located, perched on a hill right in the middle of Paris, offering stunning views across the city. As you drive through the small, winding roads, it’s quite a surprise to suddenly encounter the grand entrance of Golf de Saint-Cloud. Despite its location in the heart of Paris, the club feels impressively spacious. There are two parking areas, a large clubhouse, extensive practice facilities, and not just one but two golf courses: Jaune (Yellow) and Vert (Green). The Vert course is the championship layout. We had the pleasure of playing it with a member who also serves on the course committee, which made the round even more special. He shared many insights about the planned renovations and improvements. The course itself is nice, but over the years, trees have grown in a bit too densely, likely the result of excessive planting over time. The bunkering, too, has evolved and in some areas lost the distinctive character originally envisioned by Harry Colt. Fortunately, the club is well aware of this and has already begun a renovation process, starting with the Jaune course. The terrain is quite hilly, particularly in the middle section, so you’ll want to be in decent shape to enjoy the walk. We had a wonderful day with great company, and it was extremely helpful to have a member guide us through the strategic lines off the tee. Hole 8 stands out as particularly memorable, with its iconic view of the Eiffel Tower. Our host explained that the club had to trim a significant number of trees outside its property to reopen that majestic sightline. Fortunately many members live there, so that wasn't too difficult ;-) With the upcoming changes, I truly believe this course has the potential to become something exceptional. If they succeed in thinning out the trees to open up more views and create scenic vantage points across Paris, it could become truly epic. The location — atop a hill in central Paris — is simply unforgettable. After the round, we enjoyed some well-earned drinks on the club’s beautiful terrace, which overlooks the 18th green and offers more glimpses of the city. If you ever have the chance to be invited to play here, don’t hesitate, take it!

A grand clubhouse, Eiffel Tower views, and Parisian charm From the moment you arrive at Golf de Saint-Cloud, you’re struck by the grandeur of the clubhouse — more like a château than a clubhouse. It’s vast, elegant, and even includes guest rooms in the attic for visitors of members. A very exclusive and classic French atmosphere. The course I played, the Green Course (Cours Vert), was designed by Harry Colt and offers a wonderfully varied and hilly layout. Several holes wind through forested areas with beautiful views, but nothing quite matches the iconic par-3, 8th hole where you hit directly toward the Eiffel Tower — a postcard moment if there ever was one. The course is in great condition, with a few blind shots to keep you thinking. Maintenance is top notch. The terrace overlooking the 18th is a brilliant place to finish your round, and the staff are genuinely friendly and welcoming. There’s also a second course currently under renovation, where they’re trialing new grass types to potentially use on the main course in the future. It should reopen next season and looks promising. Access is members-only, so you’ll need an introduction to play — but if you ever get the chance, don’t hesitate. Saint-Cloud is a true hidden gem just outside Paris, with a unique blend of tradition, exclusivity, and timeless beauty.
