Snodhurst Bottom Pitch and Putt

So this page really isn't doing the course justice. It's obviously a short course (It's a pitch and putt) but you couldn't ask for a better place to practice your medium/short game.

For a council-run site, you probably wouldn't expect much but the course condition is fantastic, and with the recent addition of wildflower patches it looks excellent. You would be forgiven for forgetting where the course is located.

The clubhouse, isn't really a "club house" as such. But the staff are always very friendly, it's dirt cheap and they have a selection of drinks. W/C is available and there is plenty of parking.

They've recently refined their short game practice area and as long as you are playing a round, you can spend as long as you want there.

Could do with a few bunkers but it's brilliant and very pretty.

For a pitch and putt course, this is the bee's knees! The layout of the holes, situated up, down and bottom of this beautiful valley make it a rare Jewel landed. I've been playing here for fifty years and still look forward to the opening of each season at the beginning of April. Keen golfers could hone their short game skills here when they haven't time for a big course round.

Snodhurst Bottom Pitch & Putt heeft 18 holes van 50 tot 65 m lengte. De meeste spelers komen zonder tas en met alleen een wedge en putter in de hand. Zoals vaker in Engeland erg toegankelijk voor ieder niveau. De parkeerplaats is ruim. Het clubhuis is een oud rechthoekig blok met kleedruimte en sanitaire voorzieningen en een klein kantoortje. Prijzen zijn 2,50 pond voor junioren en 5 pond voor volwassenen voor 18 holes. Clubs en ballen zijn apart te huur voor enkele ponden meer. De golfbaan is aangelegd tussen enkele steile heuvels in bij de meeste holes moet je wel rekening houden met schuine ligging. Als je pech hebt rolt je bal zo maar 50 meter opzij naar beneden. Is dat wat de pro's wel eens meemaken op Augusta? De greens zijn wel goed vlak. Het is wel lastig om de juiste routing te volgen, alleen de vlaggen (volg eerst rood dan geel) zijn genummerd. De greenkeeper vertelde dat er enkele jaren geleden een Europees kampioenschap pitch & putt is gespeeld op deze baan. Al met al een leuk baantje om je korte spel op te oefenen. By the way, twee minuutjes verderop is een grote driving range met daarnaast een grote Golf discount shop die ook via Internet handelt.
