About Cobtree Manor Golf Club
Although Kent is famous for cobnuts, the name Cobtree probably comes from the Anglo-Saxon word cop, meaning summit. You’ll certainly enjoy the views from the golf course. The course is part of the Cobtree Manor estate, which was left to the public by Sir Garrard Tyrwhitt-Drake and was once home to Maidstone Zoo. This was Tyrwhitt-Drake’s private animal collection, and included tigers, wolves, and kangaroos. The land has been farmed since prehistoric times. In the 16th century it was owned by politician and poet Sir Thomas Wyatt. William Spong, who lived there in the 1830s, is thought to be the model for Mr Wardle in Charles Dickens’s The Pickwick Papers.

Cobtree Manor Golf ClubPrijs kwaliteit top £25. Een paar geleden er gespeeld en nu voor de 2de keer teruggekomen. De baan lag er veel beter bij en navraag leert mij dat de baan is overgenomen door een investeringsgrozp en dat is al zeer duidelijk merkbaar. De fairways zijn ok en de greens zijn zeer mooi onderhouden. Er is nog wat werk aan de winkel maar oogt nu al goed en ondanks de grote drukte (de greenfee :-)) zeer vlot spelen met dank aan de vriendelijke jonge marshall die een oogje inbhet zeil houdt.

Cobtree Manor Golf ClubVriendelijke ontvangst. De baan ligt in de nabijheid van de snelweg. Goed onderhouden. Mooie variatie in holes. Kort over water. Veel hoogteverschillen en schuin aflopende fairways. Een leuke baan die we al meerdere keren hebben gespeeld. De oefenfaciliteiten zijn matig. Mooie putting green. Geen drivingrange, wel een oefenkooi. We komen hier zeker nog een keer terug.

18 holesCobtree Manor Park Golf Course is one of the most visited pay and play golf courses in Kent. Ideally located very close to two motorways (M2 and M20), it is easy to see why with its stunning picturesque views across the Kent countryside. Cobtree is a Par 69, 5576 yards from the competition tees. The course consists of four great par 3s, two of which make for excellent discussion in the 19th as both include carrying large water hazards, one par 5 and thirteen par 4s, many of which can play a comfortable distance for the majority of golfers, however, still require a good level of accuracy. At Cobtree we are proud to host 18 USGA greens that are fully open all year round with beautiful tree lined fairways.
