Golf in Kent

Kent is a county in South East England and is famous for its white chalk cliffs. Since the Channel Tunnel was finished, it is now also connected to the French department of Pas-de-Calais. Because of its relative abundance of fruit-growing orchards and hop gardens, Kent is also known as The Garden of England. Its direct connection with Continental Europe through the Channel Tunnel, has made Kent quite a popular golf destination for golfers from France, Germany and the Benelux.

Golf in Kent
Kent also has a very rich history when it comes to golf. There are many golf clubs in Kent, some of which have hosted multiple Open Championships. Royal St George’s, Royal Cinque Ports and Prince’s Golf Club, located in Sandwich and Deal, are considered as some of the leading links golf courses in the world. Well-known parkland courses in Kent are London Golf Club and Knole Park. Kent's links courses are located on the East coast, so if you love to play links courses it's best to head to the area between Ramsgate and Dover. Another hotspot for golf in Kent is the area around Otford. There you will find golf courses like London Golf Club, Knole Park, Wildernesse and Chart Hills. Other interesting highlights in Kent - when you want a break from golf - are Canterbury Cathedral, Hever Castle, the historic dockyard Chatham and of course Chartwell, home of world’s most iconic leaders, Sir Winston Churchill. Kent is less than an hour from London by train and with easy access to the mainland of Europe, it's easy to break out of the day-to-day routine and explore what Kent has to offer.

Princes Golf Club
Greens rollen lekker!

The Royal St George's Golf Club
It doesn’t get more British than this. A privilege to play this course. The club is packed with tradition. Respect tradition and you’ll have a good time. Pro: -A lot of history. -Ian Fleming (James Bond) was a member here. He almost became the captain of the club. You could say that he died on this golf course. He had a heart attack on the 14th green and died later in…

London Golf Club
My first impression was wow! From the long drive up to the clubhouse, to the actual golf courses themselves! Although the international course is brilliant I believe the heritage is even better! You have to bring your A game off the tee for sure and really commit to your shots. Both courses are stunning and after the summer we’ve had the course condition was the best arou…

The Royal St George's Golf Club
Royal St. Georges is a club of great traditions, like jacket and tie should be worn in the clubhouse from 11:00. The course will host The Open in 2020 for the 15th time and was the first club outside of Scotland to be the host in 1894. The red logo of the club is exclusively to be worn by members of the club, rarely members resign from the club and when their end is near …
