Celebrity Golf Club

The full name of this course is "Celebrity Hills Golf Club". The course is located in the town Tema, right at the coast. Tema is about 40 driving minutes away from Accra.

The greenfee during the week is 100 Cedi, which equals 14-16 € dependig on the exchange rate.

On the weekends, I think, it is around 150 Cedi.

The landscape of this course is just great. You see and hear the Atlantic Ocean on almost every hole, which is fantastic! It is well constructed into the nature. The condition of the course is low average compared to european standards. The tee boxes, fairways, and greens are in good condition. Especially the greens can be compared to european greens due to the use of fine british gras and good greenkeeping.

The holes are well described on boards at and for each hole.

The driving range is not that useful. It is just a small field. One can use his or her own balls and your caddy brings them back. There is a small and well equipped pro shop. The club house is big and nice, which can also be seen on some of my pictures. The facilities are of good standard. The staff is extremely friendly and makes you feel welcome at any time. One usually takes a caddy for the round.

And they get paid ca. 2-3 Cedi per hole, totaling ca. 30 Cedi.

All in all playing Celebrity Hills Golf Club was a lot of fun and besides Achimota in Accra, it is definitely worth a visit!
