Bok Nam Kim Golf Club

I travel a lot for work, and try to make some time to play 9holes.

This golf course is next to the airport, which makes it convenient to play 9 holes before your flight home.

I played with a caddy, who was very friendly and helped out on the course.

But due to the dry season, there wasn't much grass anymore, so the event of playing golf in Accra was nicer then the actual golf course. But pricing was accordingly.

The Bok Nam Kim Golf course is a small, low average golf course. It is located close to the airport of Accra, about 10 driving minutes from the city center (Oxford street). The greenfee is 18 Cedi for 9 holes (every day of the week I think), which equals 2-3 € depending on the current exchange rate.

The condition of the course is ok. Achimota and Celebrity Hills Golf Course are much better.

Bok Nam Kim Golf is part of the military recreational facilities. There are also tennis courts and a well equipped fitness gym, which can also be used for a small fee. The driving range is a big field and golf balls are provided for the range. The big minus however is, that your caddy has to pick the balls up and bring them back. So not adviseable to use the range. There is no pro shop. There is a small terrace for drinks and food after or before the round. The caddies and the staff in general is very friendly. You should tip the more than the fee of 9 holes, so ca. 20 Cedi or more. They are mostly young guys who study, and are extremely thankful.

If you don't have much time and want to play a quick 9 or 18 holes Bok Nam Kim is the course to choose. Also keeping in mind the short drive to the course from the city center.
