Everything about the top golf courses in Antwerp

The top golf courses in and around Antwerp reflect a ranking shaped by verified reviews from golfers and by the strength of the surrounding golf landscape. Royal Antwerp Golf Club at Kapelmoor is the definitive case for Antwerp as a golf destination. Founded in 1888 on the Campine heathland north of the city, the current championship layout, the Rinkven International and the Red Course, used the International for the 2019 Belgian Open. The Campine terrain is the same deep-sand heathland that extends north into the Kempen national park: the turf drains fast, plays firm, and the heather rough is not decorative. It is dense and genuinely punishing. The prevailing westerly winds across the open Campine plains give the exposed holes a links quality that most inland courses can only approximate. The finishing stretch of the International Course, returning to the clubhouse through mature pine and heather corridors, is as good a finish as any Belgian course can offer. Golf Club Witbos in Zoersel, 30 minutes east of Antwerp, offers a strong Campine heathland alternative at a lower green fee. The course runs through pine forest and open heathland sections with a similar character to Royal Antwerp at a fraction of the access complexity. Its layout is less architecturally ambitious but the natural terrain is of genuine quality and the conditions through summer and autumn reward golfers who respond to fast, firm turf. Golf de Kempense extends the Antwerp heathland circuit further into the Kempen region. Its course through the national park forest area represents the purest remaining heathland terrain of any course in the Antwerp cluster, less developed, less manicured, and more rewarding for golfers who find value in natural links-adjacent conditions over resort presentation. Brasschaat Golf Club offers a more parkland alternative northwest of the city, where the terrain becomes more wooded and enclosed. Its course through broadleaf and mixed forest provides a different but defensible day of golf within the Antwerp circuit.
