Ballymoney Golf Club

Modest club, but absolutely recommended golf course. Club facilities are among the modest in business although having putting and chipping greens, but hey, golf is about playing. The course is very interesting, disected in two by the local road. Not hilly, but with plenty of elevation changes, shots downhill, uphill, below or above your feet, dogleg holes which will keep you entertained. The greens are of imaculate condition even late in a season, and all holes are playable all year round, unlike so many shortened courses in late autumn due to rains. Fairways are wide, little rough, not many fallen leaves for the late autumn, so even wayward shots do not punish too much. But there are several strategically placed bunkers, ponds and a stream and drainage channels disecting fairways. Short par4 10th is particularly interesting with a stream being a graveyard of golf balls - do not use driver ever there, 5 wood is more than plenty there as the approach is short iron anyway. Par3 18th is indimidating with the pond in front of the green being another graveyard of balls. Overall, excellent value for money and interesting play.

what a gem of a course. lovely parkland. not too long or hilly. great people running the show. No clubhouse, or at least no food or drinks. Showers only just ok. sort that out and it be very high ratings.

Great course with impeccable greens.

It's a pity the golf range next door is closed as there's no where to warm up/practice. Greens are very good. Course is well kept. Love the finishing hole, long par 3 over water with little room at the back either.
