Royal Keerbergen Golfclub

RKGC has been my first home club in Belgium since 2022, and I play 95% of my golf here. The course is short, technical, narrow and flat. The flatness of the course is much respected by the older folk, and many members play here to accommodate walking rounds. It's very uncommon to see anyone playing with a buggy in under 25+ degrees. The course has been in immaculate shape the last three years, even with the drought that Belgium has seen the last few summers. Especially the greens have been in some of the best shape I have seen thru out the year. The course itself offers a variety of difficulty, some water here and there but not all that much. There are only a couple of water crossings, with water lining the fairways on a couple holes but not really coming into play unless you shank it. The defining characteristics to me are narrowness and shortness. Players under 10HCP don't need driver at all to make a good score here. There is only one driving hole on the front nine, 4-5 on the back nine depending on how much risk is required. My only issues with RKGC are the somewhat lacking practice facilities. The driving range is mats only, and at only 200m distance with a pathway right behind the range long hitters can't hit their biggest clubs. Putting green has everything you need, but practicing your short game at RKGC is somewhat difficult. There is a chipping green but really only for chipping, pitching distances are difficult. I come in late evening to practice short game for this very reason. Locker rooms have five showers each with towels included. The clubhouse has a separate banquet/dining hall used for bigger groups, as well as the main bar area with sunny and shady patios. Current bar/resto operator is fantastic, although beer selection could we a bit wider (it's Belgium after all). RKGC is great value for money, when you consider location, price and the condition of the course over the whole year. No green fee option for 9 holes, only full 18. Not clear in the description here but I'd like to point out that there IS a driving range, with free balls. There are also 5 EV charging ports on the further end of the parking lot.

As a self-confessed collector of Belgium’s Royal golf courses, this one had been on my list for quite some time. Set just 30 minutes from Brussels, it’s a pleasant woodland layout with a touch of water here and there. The course was in very good condition, and both staff and members made for a genuinely warm welcome. The design is flat and relatively forgiving, though my ball still managed to find its fair share of trees. The par 3s are a real highlight. If you’re chasing Royal courses like I am—or simply nearby—this is an easy “yes” for a round.

Keerbergen altijd ZEER GOED, zeer mooie groote beklinkerde parking , klein wandeling voorbij de zeer grote oefen puttinggreen, aanmelden in het clubhouse war zich ook de shop bevind. Drivingrange met GRATIS balletjes , ze is zeer groot van lengte heeft een vijftiental overdekt afslagmatten,aparte boxen voor de pro's om les te geven. Een nogal kleine oefenbunker ietwat ongelukkig gelegen, terug naar afslag hole 1, de boxen waren allemaal zeer keurig onderhouden (er was deze dag veel onderhoudspersoneel op de baan - wat ze ook voor de volgende dagen,weken,maanden in een prachtige golfcourse zet. De greens waren al een weekje geleden geprikt , ik schat nog een weekje en ze liggen in pracht conditie. Fairways , bunkers en rough waren top onderhouden. Volgende hole staat steeds goed aangegeven en aan de teebox bevind zich steeds een prachtbord met alles erop en eraan zelfs een mooie layout. het is een par 70 baan.

Ruime nette parking , wit mooi clubhouse , ruime driving range met onbeperkt gratis ballen , ruime putting green , mooie borden met layout aan de teebox , prachtige teeboxen , zeer mooie fairways , binnen enkele weken maanden staat alles in bloei en dan is het hier aan het meer zeer mooi om te golfen. Vriendelijk personeel.
