À propos Lundin Golf Club

In a previous life the links of the Lundin Golf Club and the course of its neighbours across the Mile Dyke at Leven, were one and the same with, for a time, the clubs sharing the course and starting from opposite ends. In 1909 the single course was divided at the Dyke and both clubs added nine additional holes to create two golf courses. Lundin Golf Club brought in James Braid to lay out the new holes on the north side of the railway line and remodel several of the holes from the original course. Today Lundie as it is better known remains an Open Championship qualifying course and is home to the East of Scotland Championship which annually attracts many of the top amateur players in the country. Lundin Golf Club, near to St Andrews the ‘Home of Golf’, is well known throughout the golfing world as a course of rare quality. Founded in 1868, on a Tom Morris course it was extensively redesigned by five times Open Champion James Braid in 1909.

We had a great time at Lundin Golf Club. The course is a lot of fun, with some unique elements for links golf. To me, it feels like the course has 3 distinct 'sections'. First, you start near the water for the classic links feel and look. Then, you turn towards the middle of the course with dunes and blind shots, also very classic. But after you've finished 12 holes, the course goes uphill and gives you three holes with beautiful views over the entire course. The last three holes are back in the middle of the golf course. This makes the course a lot of fun to play, beautiful to behold, and quite unique. If you're planning a Scottish Links Trip this course isn't a bad shout to include. Maintenance was also on point, and the greens were good and fun. If you ever play here, remember that every putt breaks towards the water. Even if you see it breaking the other direction, it won't. Apart from the course, everything is in order. In true Scottish fashion there's no range, a nice pro-shop, friendly reception and a decent restaurant. We even got a personalized gift when we arrived, which is always a lovely touch. The restaurant closes early but luckily the bar was still open after our round. I'd love to come back here some day.

Beautiful old links course with elevation changes and lots of bunkers. Well maintained, challenging and with spectacular views. Welcoming, cosy clubhouse.

3e speeldag, nu op Lundin golfclub. Fantastische links baan aan zee. Met mooie vergezichten en mooie holes. Fairways en greens waren perfect en de baan lag er goed bij. De rouge was best wel hoog. Clubhuis was netjes.

A magnificent old Tom Morris/James Braid designed golf course. Lundin Links, just 20 minutes from St. Andrews is one of Scotland’s gems. Historically qualifying course to The Open Championship when played in St. Andrews, Lundin Golf Club is renowned for its beautiful greens and some of the most demanding Par 4’s in the game of golf. A complex links course with open burns, an internal out of bounds (the old railway line), and strategic bunkering, Lundin presents a challenge for the thinking golfer where position from the tee rather than distance will yield just rewards on the scorecard.
