West Kent Golf Club

I’m not sure how I managed to miss this wonderful course for so long when it is a short drive from home and such a pleasure to play. Although the phrase is much used, West Kent really is a ‘hidden gem’ and I can’t wait to play it again.

The only negative comment to make is that there are some narrow country lanes to negotiate in order to get to the course. I’m sure that, though, is one reason why we virtually had the course to ourselves on a sunny Friday morning.

The first hole is a very civilised easyish opener which gets you up and running nicely. After that, though, the course is challenging in parts, interesting in others and a pleasure all round. The views are terrific with the holes winding up and down through a wooded valley.

The clubhouse was warm and welcoming and all the facilities you’d expect were in good order.

A real hidden gem which I highly recommend.
