Elegant, highly playable and rich in character, it is a timeless parkland course that remains enjoyable for golfers of different abilities while offering a compelling challenge from the back tees. The New Course, designed by Paul Krings and opened in 1990, presents a more secluded and adventurous side of Atalaya. Winding through rolling natural terrain, the course offers a peaceful atmosphere, abundant wildlife and impressive views towards the Mediterranean, Gibraltar and the African coastline. Its varied elevation changes, narrower playing corridors and strategically demanding holes invite golfers to think carefully about every shot, creating a rewarding experience in which precision and imagination are often more valuable than distance. Together, the two courses offer genuine variety: the classic beauty and generous proportions of the Old Course contrast with the natural, undulating character of the New Course. Atalaya is also home to the PG Golf & Sports Academy, founded in 2020 and recognised for its extensive training facilities. It features the only TrackMan Driving Range on the Costa del Sol, together with dedicated areas for long-game practice, putting, chipping and bunker play. Coaching is available in several languages, allowing visiting golfers to refine every aspect of their game with the support of an experienced international teaching team.
