About Sicilia’s Picciolo Etna Golf
The Club was established in 1989 with the first golf course in Sicily created by the renowned architect Luigi Rota Caremoli, the only architect in Italy to be a member of the Association of British Golf Course Architects. Luigi Rota Caremoli made the most of the 44 hectares of hilly terrain, designing technical obstacles to great effect, to the extent that the course appears entirely natural. The course has had the honour of hosting 5 open championships: for three consecutive years, from 1995 to 1997, it hosted the Sicilian Ladies Italian Open; in 2010 it hosted a stage of the European Senior Open and in 2011 the Italian stage of the Sicilian Ladies Italian Open.

Il Picciolo Golf ClubDeze baan gespeeld op onze rondreis op Sicilië. Gereserveerd via Leading Courses , dat ging perfect zelfs nog goedkoper dan rechtstreeks bij de golfclub zelf. Ontvangst supervriendelijk. De baan zelf is lastig. Nauwe fairways en blinde greens. Onderhoud kan beter, veel “onkruid” op de greens. Oefenfaciliteiten prima. Mooi clubhuis.
