LaFinca Golf (Madrid)

One of the best golf courses in Spain. With greens, bunkers and tees really well maintained.

La Finca. Campo cuidado con mucho mimo, construido una zona sobre el antiguo terreno de somosaguas, parte final de recorrido.. Gran diseño, campo fácil de caminar. Excelente nivel de mantenimiento. Destacan los Greens muy grandes, algunos de ellos muy movidos. En especial el 8 y 17. Casa club muy bien montada. Vestuarios de los mejores que he visto nunca. Muy Top.

Best club I've ever been to, amazing service and attention to detail. The course is also great, a challenge but not overly frustrating. It opened recently so the vegetation is still growing. Greens are extremely fast.

Tenía mucha ganas de poder por fin jugar La Finca. Hacia tiempo que veía las obras desde la carretera y siempre es difícil, desde la distancia, hacerse una idea clara de como será el campo. Pues el resultado de momento es impecable en cuanto al campo de golf. Los greenes así de nuevos son todo un lujo (cuando jugué el campo llevaba solo 3 semanas abierto), con una rodada impecable y rápida. Los hoyos son todavía muy jugables ya que apenas han crecido los 1800 arboles que se han plantado, y el rough – salvo en alguna excepción – es también muy permisivo. Se ve que el campo esta pensado para el disfrute de los socios y que “solo” es parte de la experiencia (restaurante de 10, intimidad y exclusividad, centro comercial premium, y las futuras instalaciones de tenis y padel …). A pesar de ser un club privado creo que deberían permitir algunos jugadores externos, aunque de manera excepcional, para mantener su nivel de servicio muy alto recogiendo opiniones de diferentes perfiles. Sin duda se ha de jugar si tiene la oportunidad de estar invitado por un socio!

Ultimo consejo: parase en los servicios del hoyo 5 ;-) (ver foto).

LaFinca was open only 20 days when we played the first nine holes, the back nine will be playable in spring 2024. We were among the first 500 players that got the chance to play here.

The clubhouse is very modern from the outside but very cosy inside. Great staff and very nice food. The course was designed by Stirling & Martin and plays quite easy from the tee. We played the first 9 from yellow and the second round from blue, there was not a lot of difference. This a definitely a second shot course. After reaching the fairway it’s quite challenging to reach the greens and be in the right place. The greens were by far the fastest we played on this week. The maintenance of the entire course was very well. The course is quite private with a hefty entry fee. It will be possible for green fee players to play here but the green fee will be € 350 per round.

There are 500 apartments around the course, tennis, padel and a Michelin restaurant so it will be a tiny village. They will maximise the amount of members to 777 and that’s a big plus in the Madrid area with several clubs having 10.000 plus members. Looking forward to play the back nine next time I’m in the area.
