Ligging en uitzichten zijn fantastisch. De fairways van de tweede 9 zijn matig. Ook teeboxen, met name 52 (rood) soms echt slecht. Mensen zijn heel vriendelijk en zeer gastvrij.

Der 18-Loch Meisterschaftsplatz wurde auf dem Gelände einer stillgelegten Erzmine errichtet und ist in 25 Autominuten von Bilbao aus zu erreichbar. Die spanische Golf Legende Seve Balesteros hat diese abwechslungsreiche Anlagen entworfen. Man Verfügt über eine sehr grosszügige Driving Range mit allen Annehmlichkeiten. Die hügelige Lage und die einher gehende Aussicht sind fantastisch. Von mehreren Löchern aus hat man einen herrlichen Blick auf Teile von Bilbao im Tal und auch auf den Atlantik. Als Besonderheit und Tribut an Seve Ballesteros hat man 2 Bunker entlang des 18. Grüns angelegt. welche die Form eines „S“ der andere die eines „B“ haben. Der Zustand der Fairways ist eher mittelmässig. Das hügelige Gelände erfordert eine gute physische Kondition und ein Golfbuggy könnte womöglich sehr hilfreich sein. Alle Golf Angestellten sind ausnahmslos sehr freundlich und auch im Restaurant versprüht man eine angenehmer, lokale Atmosphäre. Einen Pro-Shop scheint es derzeit nicht zu geben, falls Sie aber einen Logo Ball oder ähnliches als Souvenir nach Hause nehmen wollen, so bietet der Starter ein paar Golfartikel in seiner kleinen Starterhütte an - sehr originell. The 18-hole championship course was built on the site of a disused ore mine and is a 25-minute drive from Bilbao. Spanish golf legend Seve Ballesteros designed this varied course. It features a very spacious driving range with all the amenities. The hilly terrain and the accompanying views are fantastic. From several holes, you have a magnificent view of parts of Bilbao in the valley as well as the Atlantic Ocean. As a special feature and tribute to Seve Ballesteros, two bunkers have been built along the 18th green—one shaped like an “S” and the other like a “B.” The condition of the fairways is somewhat mediocre. The hilly terrain requires good physical fitness, and a golf cart might be very helpful. All the golf staff are, without exception, very friendly, and the restaurant also exudes a pleasant, local atmosphere. There doesn’t seem to be a pro shop at the moment, but if you’d like to take home a logo ball or something similar as a souvenir, the starter offers a few golf items in his small starter hut—a very original touch.

The road to Meaztegi GC winds its way up from Bilbao, with perhaps a dozen bends along the way. The reward is a peaceful, green landscape. The course was built on the site of a disused ore mine. It was designed by Seve Balesteros. Right from the third hole – a par 3 measuring 175 metres, played deep into the valley – you can see most of the course laid out before you. “This is our local ‘Amen Corner’,” Carlos, the local pro, tells us after we’ve played holes 10–12. The 12th, in particular, is really tough and confusing at first glance. There are two large lakes on the course. From several holes, you can see parts of Bilbao in the valley and also the sea. “As a tribute to Seve, we’ve built two bunkers along the 18th green. One is shaped like an S and the other like a B,” explains Carlos, who knew the Spanish legend personally. If you’re still not satisfied, you can pop over to the nine-hole pitch & putt course for a bit of practice.

A golf club with some beautiful views and a pleasant, local atmosphere. Unfortunately, the course was very wet due to several days of heavy rain, which likely affected my overall impression and playability. The club was a little difficult to find when driving, but parking and facilities were perfectly fine once I arrived. It felt like a very local club, and I was paired with local players who did not speak much English, but they were polite and welcoming, which I appreciated. If I lived in Bilbao, I think this would be a good club to be a member of. However, as a visiting golfer, it didn’t quite give me the feeling that I would return. Wort to visit, but maybe not plan multiple rounds there.
