Estoril Golf Club

Lots of work going on at the course to modernise it with apartments being built but a stunning course steeped in history. Really enjoyable course and very well laid out with picturesque grounds.

Door toernooi konden we maar 9 ipv 18 holes, was ook niet meer om te boeken omdat ik via leading courses had geboekt. Is dus eerste en laatste keer dat ik dat heb gedaan want je bent alle flexibiliteit kwijt. Op vele plekken werd er gewerkt aan de baan, caddiemasters waren heel vriendelijk baalden ook dat ze niets konden compenseren

Very interesting course to play with a range of different holes; short, long, uphill & downhill. The green complexes are interesting and especially the quick & undulating greens are a serious challenge. The fairways and greens were in excellent condition. The undulations provide interest and a good workout if you are walking. There are a couple of long walks to cross the highway, but even though the highway is close at a few holes, it did not really have a significant impact on the overall stillness experienced on the course.

5 of us played the course on Friday October 11th, a 2-ball followed by a 3-ball.

The course was magnificent, the views were great BUT we did not enjoy the experience.

We were very disappointed with 2 aspects

1) There were no buggies for hire. For a course of this stature and prominence, we were amazed that no buggies were available

2) We did not see a Golf Ranger. Our group of 5 were stuck behind a group of 12 female golfers that held us up on every hole. On a number of occasions, there were 3 groups of 4 female golfers on the same tee-box, followed by my group of 5 and other groups right behind us. We asked if we could play through, but permission was refused. Our round took over 6 hours to complete, which was unsatisfactory and negatively impacted what should have been a very enjoyable experience.

We would love to recommend your course to my friends and other golf tourists but would find it difficult to do so unless there was a commitment to address the above shortcomings.

Poorly run ground operation – especially for being associated with a 5-star Palacio Estoril. Not enough buggies for all the golfers they send out. No service on the golf course (food cart) and no rangers to move the play along. Greenkeepers are doing a great job though: greens, fairways and T-boxes were in great condition.
