CUBO Golf Ljubljana

Cubo Golf Ljubljana – Impressive Architecture, Mixed Golf Experience Cubo Golf was our fallback option after nearby courses were hosting tournaments. The clubhouse is impressive, featuring modern timber architecture, and the driving range offers radar-based practice technology. Unfortunately, the outdoor hitting mats are heavily worn and in need of replacement. The course starts with an unusual uphill par 3. The front nine are hilly but not particularly memorable, while long walks between and even within holes disrupt the flow of the round. The back nine require an additional walk of nearly one kilometer past the clubhouse and feature more elevation changes and a few blind shots. Following heavy rain, all bunkers were virtually unplayable, yet no green fee reduction was offered. Even under better conditions, the green fee feels overpriced. In our view, the course quality and maintenance do not justify the premium pricing. The atmosphere was also somewhat disappointing. While the staff was polite, many members appeared rather unfriendly. Greetings were rare, and after following the course signage to the 10th tee, we received puzzled looks because locals apparently use a different route. The clubhouse restaurant looked excellent, but was closed for a private event during our visit. Conclusion: Cubo Golf stands out for its architecture, modern practice facilities, and attractive setting. However, the layout, long walks, course conditions, and weak value for money prevent it from being a truly premium golfing experience. There are better options in the region at a similar or lower price point.

Leuke baan met een paar mooie dog legs een lange par 5 heerlijk om te lopen. Mooie uitzichten.

Molto gradevole la club house, in stile baite alpine in legno e con un bello spazio all'aperto. Driving range impreziosito dalla presenza di una serie di postazioni attrezzate con il TopTracer Range. Il percorso si snoda ai margini di un area boschiva, con un bel panorama verso le montagne circostanti. Alla data della visita i green erano stati recentemente carotati e sabbiati (sconto sul green fee, molto apprezzato), abbastanza ampi, lenti ma giocabili. Fairway con inerbimento molto irregolare, in fase di ricrescita. Bunker purtroppo molto duri (e qualcuno anche allagato) per via delle piogge dei giorni precedenti. In corso il completo rifacimento dei tee box.

It is good to see that the golf course is finally improving in maintenance and playability as the greens are almost back to normal after two painful years. They are actually quite nice and fast. Fairways are okay but still full of weed in certain areas, tee-boxes are unfortunately below average and they need to be reseeded. The golf course is now okay to play but the regular green fee price is still way overpriced as you can play better courses for less money just across the border.

Food in the restaurant was very tasty.

Maintenance has improved from the start of the season. Greens are in great condition, as are fairways. Some tee boxes need a bit of time, but are improving. Clubhouse is great, so is the staff.
