Pinheiros Altos Golf Course

Hele mooie baan, afwisselend, met mooi uitzicht over de middelandse zee en prima onderhouden. Vriendelijk ontvangst en begeleiding.

Olives en Pines gespeeld. Teeboxen lagen er prima bij, fairways ook goed. Greens overall erg goed alleen wat trager en sommige hobbeliger vergeleken met andere banen. Gratis drivingrange ballen. Geen info over welke afstanden de vlaggen stonden. Olives vrij vlak en flinke afstanden. 1 par 5 van 540 meter. Pines van hoog naar laag en andersom. Paar doglegs. Huur buggy wat aan de dure kant voor alleen de kar.

Erste Runde in der Saison, ein netter Anfang, Rezeption sehr freundlich und nett. Der Platz in einem guten Zustand, die Grüns leider langsam, ansonsten spielt es sich sehr angenehm.

Another huge disappointment in the golf mecca Algarve.It is unimaginable to me how on earth a golf course with such strong competition on every corner can afford such bad greens and rough which is up to almost knee height (and I am not talking about thin scottish rough) in some areas and finding a golf ball is coincidence. Even if they would be hosting a European Tour or Ryder Cup next week this would be waaaay too much for an average Joe!At times I had a feeling that it was raining for 1 month straight but only on this golf course.  It is a pity as the layout is not that bad. The Olives loop is very interesting with a good mix of holes. Pines loop is a bit more challenging with a few demanding but rewarding holes. But everything gets ruined with such poor maintenance. The situation on Pines was a bit better regarding the rough but greens were still super slow and bumpy. Bunkers were not much better. Greens were slower than Slovenian railway trains and I even think that the second cut on Els Vilamoura is faster than these greens today.The Clubhouse is quite outdated. 

I play here once in a while but have never played CORK. Now, I could close the loop. Nice but nothing exciting and not as exciting as Olives and Pines. Playing it with a single DIGIT member was certainly the highlight.
