Calgary Golf & Country Club

I had the pleasure of getting an invite to the historic Calgary Golf and Country Club. This is one of the more exclusive golf clubs in Calgary and has a true private country club feel. Everyone at the golf club was very friendly and welcomed us as visitors.

The course is a traditional parkland golf course and has some challenging holes with significant elevation changes. The holes that were most spectacular for me were the 9th and 18th holes. Both these holes were downhill par fours with a significant drop from tee boxes to the fairways. The 18th being a longer hole. We played on a wonderful sunny day and we could have easily sat on the tees of these two holes and admire the river valley views.

The course was in impeccable condition. The tee boxes, fairways and greens were the best I have played in the Calgary area.

It was a joy to play a course that has a historic connection to a great early golfer in Willie Park Jr. If you get the chance to play this course - just do it!
