Missers worden afgestraft, maar de uitzichten en lay-out is out of this world

Dundonald Links was a fantastic experience from the moment we arrived. We received a genuinely warm welcome at the clubhouse, followed by another personal welcome at the first tee, which immediately made us feel like valued guests. The course itself is a superb and demanding links test, so it is easy to understand why Dundonald was selected as one of the Final Qualifying venues for The Open. Playing a course where professionals and elite amateurs compete for a place in golf’s oldest major added an extra dimension to the round. The excellent facilities made the experience even better. Being able to enjoy the sauna after the round was a real luxury and the perfect way to relax after a challenging day on the course. A beautiful golf course, outstanding hospitality and first-class amenities. Dundonald Links offers much more than just a round of golf and is definitely a place we would love to return to.

Super vriendelijk onthaal. Heel hulpvaardig. Prachtige pro shop. De baan is een juweeltje! Zoooo mooi!

Dundonald Links, located on Scotland’s west coast, is a course that has been highly recommended by many, and it’s easy to see why. The first impression is undoubtedly impressive, with the modern clubhouse and stylish surrounding lodges setting the tone for a premium golfing experience. The facilities are top-notch, reflecting the club’s commitment to offering a high standard on and off the course. While the clubhouse and pro shop are well-presented and well-stocked, our experience with the service was mixed. Despite the warm atmosphere, there was some initial tension during our visit, possibly due to a busy morning, which impacted the service. However, the quality of the food itself was excellent once it arrived. Additionally, there was a discrepancy with our tee time, which was later than initially scheduled. This led to a slower round than anticipated, as we found ourselves following a large group with caddies, which did affect the overall pace of play. Once out on the course, Dundonald Links lived up to its reputation. The layout is brilliantly designed by Kyle Philips, combining the natural beauty of the undulating dunes with well-maintained fairways and greens. It’s a true test of links golf, with a good balance of challenging holes and easier routes for higher handicaps. Despite the slower pace during our visit, it’s clear that Dundonald Links offers a fantastic golfing experience, and it would undoubtedly be more enjoyable under typical conditions. With its superb facilities and beautiful course, it’s worth a visit, especially when the pace of play is better.
