The Kings Golf Club Inverness

When I was organizing my itinerary for the week I was not expecting the King’s course to be as memorable as it was. Definitely a course intended to fill a gap but it was so much more than that and so glad I managed to come play. It is quite visible from the entrance that it’s a fairly new course opening its doors in 2019 and is still settling into the land that it’s set on. The start is very gentle but an intriguing blind tee shot over the raised fairway to a green nestled behind a small body of water. From there you head towards the main body of the course. A straight par 4 comes before a dog-leg left par 4 comes next finishing at the foot of the hill where the views of the gorse bushes in bloom come into full view. The course is wonderfully designed, fairways slant from one direction to another, you don’t just go up the hill and come down, it works across, up, down and around. I loved the little wall feature on the 5th. Look out for the views on the 10th, not only from the tee box down the hill and of the area surrounding Inverness but also back up behind you of the vibrant yellow gorse bushes. The 12th is a tricky par 4, quite short but with a bunker in the middle of the fairway but it also offers a snippet of each hole on the course so look out for that. The fairways were generous with lovely, lush surfaces but the greens were clearly still bedding in. For £85 a round it is a great offering with all the super expensive clubs in the area.

Nieuwe baan van 6 jaar oud. Oefen faciliteiten nog niet open. Het is een verrassende parkbaan. Weids met hele mooie uitzichten. Veel op en neer lopen. Greens waren echt optimaal geprepareerd. Zeker de moeite waard om te spelen.

Condición correcta en general pero los greens no estaban a la altura. Muy pobres en densidad y con bastante arena.

Agradable de jugar y muy asequible para todos los handicaps.

A tener en cuenta si lo que quieres es una ronda relajada cerca de la ciudad.
