Two world class courses together on one resort, both courses have hosted european tour events, with the North, originally designed by Arnold Palmer having hosted the Ryder Cup. From the moment you arrive you are treated with hospitality and the club house and shop are superb. The driving range is great and has free range balls piled ready for use. The starter is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable which is a great way to start your round. Fairways were in fantastic condition and all cut with stripes or patterns which is incredibly attractive to the eye from the tee, providing a clear seperation from fairway to rough. The greens were fast and soft during my visit running at 12.9. This is displayed on a board in the clubhouse each day which is a nice touch. The layout of the course is world class but fair, however there are some holes which seem to be making up the numbers, first 3 holes arnt great but the course comes to life in the middle section. The last 3 holes are 3 of the best you can play. There is a strong feature of water throughout this course. Overall this is a fantastic course, which is highly challenging but fun, it also helps to know you are walking the fairways of history of the Ryder cup.

We thoroughly enjoyed our round on the North course, with our caddie Joe. My partner's handicap is 7, but I'm a 24.2 and I was concerned the course would be too difficult for me. It was enjoyable for both of us! The most challenging aspect is the speed of the greens. They are truly championship quality greens and you really have to adjust your putting speed accordingly. The course is meticulously maintained, including the fairways and bunkers. Although the facilities list on this site says "no restaurant", there is an excellent restaurant in the clubhouse. We liked the course so much that we've booked an additional round!
