Blind shots are fun, but not if half of your round is a blind shot, especially if in some cases you have no clue where to go and how far to hit it. I've never really been this clueless on some shots and if you want to properly measure it it's terrible for pace of play. There are barely any distance markers on the course and although the online course guide looks nice, it's completely useless. When you're trying to play good golf and you simply have no clue what to hit, it's no fun. At the 8th hole I had a blind approach shot and tried to guestimate my distance from the caddy book, only to find out I hit it 40 meters past the green. Overall, the location is great, overlooking a beach and the bay, and there's a cute atmosphere, but the course itself simply isn't very good. There's a sense of pure links golf, but it's not comparable to Durness, another 9 hole course in the Highlands, which is definitely nicer. There's a tiny clubhouse to report when people are present, and otherwise there's an honesty box (qr code) to pay. There's a little chipping/putting green with a net next to hit to hit some balls as a warm up. However strangely the net left sticky blue plastic strings all over any balls you would hit into it. In terms of maintenance, it's very mixed. There are good bits, but there are also large parts of the fairways that's more moss than grass. The greens are really slow (I've seen slow greens, but this beats them all), while the course was very wet from previous rain and wasn't able to dry out much.

Beautifully located near the coastline is this lovely 9 holes golf course. True links with a small clubhouse and everything in the national terrain. The greens were a bit too slow, and the layout is at times a bit strange. But for 30 pounds it's a must if you are driving bye. Golf as it was supposed to be, affordable, accessible and all natural

As a keen Aussie golfer visiting the home of golf I had heard good reports about the course at Traigh. I was certainly very impressed with the whole setup at Traigh. We were welcomed to the course by the volunteer starter in the small clubhouse, who told us about some features of the course prior to heading to the first tee. The course was in excellent condition with well grassed fairways and smooth greens. There are some quirky holes with blind tee shots and hidden greens which only added to the fun of playing the course. I really enjoyed playing Traigh!

Traumhafte Lage. Wunderschöne Kulisse. Sollte man unbedingt spielen, wenn man in der Gegend ist.
