Ratho Park Golf Club

Ratho park golf is close to Edinburgh. The course has an interesting lay-out. It's not very long and only has 1 par 5. The PAR is 69. The first thing you notice when you arrive at the gate is that the road towards the clubhouse (old Mansion) winds through the golf-course. You need to look around for upcoming golfers. After a safe arrival at the clubhouse you are welcomed in the pro shop. This is a separate building. The mansion is for drinks and food and locker rooms. It's filled with history. Great atmosphere. The course plays not too difficult. There are some hilly bits but overall you walk the course quite easily. The GBP 5,- trolleys have 3 wheels which is very relaxing. We were lucky to be teamed up with a member of the club. He pointed us the way. This was helpful as it was not always clear were to find the next tee after finishing a hole. The course was in good shape. Greens were difficult to read. This was of course one of the architects means to make it more difficult. So take your time on the greens. Practice was with the commonly used Nets and a short game area. At the (short) driving range you use your own balls!. (interesting) We had a very good time on this course. The weather also helped. And after the round a very good drink.

Wenn man Golf in einer Parklandschaft mag, ist man hier genau richtig. Der gesamte Platz war in einem sehr guten Zustand. Breite Fairways und top Grüns machten den Platz zu einem optimalen Golfvergnügen.

This course is a wonderful little gem 10 min from the airport. I was stuck waiting for my daughter's plane to arrive, so I sprinted down to Ratho park to get in a quick 18 holes. I was not disappointed. The course was in great condition and I lucked out that the weather was tremendous. This decision was a spur of the moment one, so I needed to rent clubs which I was able to do for only 20GBP for a decent set. Even though the road to the clubhouse crosses several fairways, drivers were considerate and pace of play was never effected.

It is a good course for all levels of play. I look forward to playing again soon.

Fantastico golf immerso in un immenso giardino. Nel centro c'è la clubhouse storica. Stupendo prezzi incredibilmente bassi.
