Designed by the great Harry Holt, Blackmoor is an often-overlooked gem, nestled amidst heavyweights like Liphook and Hankey Common. For those yet to experience it, adding Blackmoor to your golfing inventory is a must.

Despite its modest length, Blackmoor demands precision. With a plethora of bunkers and classic Colt elevated greens, concentration is key throughout the round.

The standout hole, for me, is the Par 3 9th, featuring an elevated green guarded by two sand bunkers, deep rough patches, and an old quarry to the left. Dog legs characterize Blackmoor, with no less than 10, putting ample pressure on shot selection.

Playing with members proved invaluable for navigating the course effectively. The Clubhouse, positioned high above the 1st tee and 18th green, offers commanding views of both, as well as the 9th green and 10th Tee.

Despite relentless rain, the course's conditioning remained fantastic, a testament to Blackmoor's resilience.

I look forward to returning to Blackmoor and making it happen soon.

Have played this course a few times now. Really is an underrated course and show possibly be a little higher up the table especially after the new bunkers that have recently been installed by Lobb Partners. What a difference it has made. And also lots of new paths have been added which really makes it tidy.

The greens are also running superbly and roll perfectly.

Challenging greens & par 3’s are what makes this course so interesting. Lovely wide fairways mean you can open your shoulders with the driver, but 2nd shots are very important on the par 4 & 5’s, with all holes presenting a different challenge, but playable by all abilities. Lovely heathland & woodland mix in a tranquil & quiet area. The clubhouse with the wrap around balcony is a great place to finish a round, and if you’ve got time pop into the 1/2 way hut, it’s got amazing coffee & snacks. The pro shop is well stocked and has very helpful & friendly.

The course was in fantastic condition when I played having been prepared for the club senior championship. Considering that the weather before playing had been very wet the greens were quite fast but the fairways were in great condition. A test for players of all handicap levels and will certainly look to play the course again in spring/ summer 2018 when it will be drier and the greens faster.

Blackmoor Golf Club is a traditional heathland course with heather lined. The many subtle dog-legs are common for this course. With a length of about 6,100 yards it is not the longest course but accuracy of drive is very important. All par 3's on the course have the stamp if Harry Colt: the elevated greens are well guarded by bunkers. The course is noted for the quality of its greens throughout the year and the sloping 18th green presents a final challenge to all golfers.
