This 9 holes course at the Royal Zaragoza Airclub is deceptive at first sight, because some of the holes are short, the fairways are narrow and the greens are small and well protected by strategically placed bunkers. When the USAF designed and built it in 1966, they wanted a course which was difficult to play on and at the same time easy to maintain. As well as being small, the greens also have hidden slopes, so you have to know how to read them well to get the ball in the hole. On the par-4s, if you don’t hole out in 2 shots, you will almost certainly end up with a bogey on your scorecard. The course is heavily affected by the north wind which blows down the Ebro valley from west to east, and makes play extremely difficult on windy days.
