Quinta do Gramacho (Pestana Golf Resort)Gramacho gespeeld Vriendelijke ontvangst bij de receptie en door de caddiemaster. We werden weer gekoppeld aan een echtpaar. De baan is redelijk vol maar liep alles prima door. De baan zelf ligt in een redelijk geaccidenteerd terrein, daardoor soms wat lastig om te bepalen waar je de afslag het beste heen kunt slaan. De kwaliteit van de baan is redelijk . Fairways zijn hier en daar wat kaal evenals de tees. Greens zijn wel goed, maar moeilijk te lezen. Door de hoogte verschillen en de aanwezigheid van water op aardig wat holes toch een uitdagende baan. Als je in de buurt bent zeker een baan om te spelen. Opvallend en ik had nog nooit gezien. Op alle holes rijden kleine robotmaaiers.

The course is quite dry and this means your ball will role further as expected. Therefore it is nice to play in the summer The staff is very friendly and gives you information when you asked for it. Overall when on Holiday a nice round and enjoy your drinks afer wards

Vale da Pinta (Pestana Golf Resort)Quinta do Gramacho (Pestana Golf Resort)Telkens wij komen golfen in Portugal zitten beide banen tussen ons lijstje. Zijn het topbanen? Het valt te zien wat je verwacht. Ik vind ze super leuk met een goed onderhoud en alles op en aan. Gramacho is uitdagend met mooie holes, goed onderhoud, enkele kansen om goed te scoren,… Vale da Pinta is iets moeilijker maar goed te spelen en met supermooie natuur. Het zijn banen die al even meegaan en ik hoop ze nog dikwijls te kunnen spelen. Het zijn andere banen dan QDL of VDL maar ze zullen altijd op mijn lijstje staan om te spelen. Mijn medespeler die voor de eerste keer mee ging en die ook de andere banen speelde had eveneens het idee om deze terug op ons lijstje te zetten volgend jaar.

Imagine the fairways of Bermuda grass, strategically placed sand bunkers, and greens clad in Pen Cross Bent grass. Not to mention ornamental lakes in a rolling terrain dotted with carob, fig, almond and olive trees (including one olive tree over 1200 years old!).

18 holesAfter his success designing the Vale da Pinta course, Ronald Fream teamed up with the former world No. 1 Nick Price to create the unique design of Gramacho. With 18 holes and 27 greens, plus numerous different tee points, players are able to enjoy the same course time and time again but always with slightly different challenges. Apart from the fantastic golf design, Ronald and Nick managed to incorporate the traditional landscape by utilizing the natural stone outcrops, historical dry stone walling and existing ancient trees with some artfully sculpted lakes and bunkers. The effect is a wonderful journey through the countryside.
