Aaaah, First Warsaw GC, what an experience! Where do I start? Not easy because there is so much wrong with the golfing experience here and yet I enjoyed my round.
Firstly the course: a beautiful natural forest location with several reed-filled lakes. There are some stunning and challenging holes. The problem is that the designer (or the person deciding the tree preservation restrictions) has left too many trees in situ in silly positions. At least four of the holes reward an excellent drive with an impossible shot to the green as there is a tree right in front…additionally there is chronic under-investment in general maintenance so the bunkers are in shocking condition and fairways and greenside are disappointingly uncared-for.
Off the course we rented two sets of clubs and trolleys. Both items of equipment looked like they had never experienced the pleasure of any cleaning or maintenance. There were old chocolate wrappers and plastic bottles in the golf bags, the clubs themselves were in shocking condition. Dirty and half-broken. I couldn’t use my 7 iron as the head was loose and rattling. When I hit the six iron on the penultimate hole the head flew off 50 metres into a bunker. As for the trolley…it was literally falling to pieces as were all the trolleys. I chose the one which looked like the best of a dodgy bunch. The handle quickly came loose and it was a trial to push the damn thing for the final 12 holes.
The clubhouse is a simple but decent tent-like structure. The staff (only one young girl in the whole place when we arrived at 11h) not very friendly or helpful or knowledgeable about golf.
The sort of place which has huge potential to be a really good course and club but needs proper management and maintenance.

New season, new hopes but the same reality. Beautiful nature is the strongest point of the course especially in the early spring. The smell of flowering bird cherry on the back nine, tree buds turning into bright green leaves and high water level in oxbow lakes made it all special this time of the year.
Greenkeepers have a lot of work to do in this course as the maintenance is far from its best. Some of the greens still need to see its first cut this season. Fairways have not seen the cut either. A few bunkers were not raked. On the positive note driveway was levelled and is less bumpy. All in all, probably still the best course in the Warsaw area for a quick round of golf.

Target golf park course where every single hole is a challange. The holes are skillfully integrated into the Vistula old river bed. The higher the water level in the Vistula, the more difficult the course becomes. Beautiful, old poplars provide a unique atmosphere, protect against the sun in hot summer and wind in late autumn. In the fall, slightly muddy fairways on the low-lying holes # 2, # 12 and # 17 and the ubiquitous leaves are a downside.
Some of the bunkers require renovation because the drainage after heavy rainfall does not work properly. The access road is tragic, fast driving may damage the tire or the suspension. Driving range is an open-air museum.
Nevertheless, golf in First Warsaw gives great satisfaction from the first opening shot over the water to the last approach into the island green. Greens improved a lot over the two seasons and balls are rolling nicely.
Best golf course in Warsaw area and top three golf course in Poland next to Modry Las and San Valey.

First Warsaw was opened in 1989, and I understood it was then only the second oldest club in Poland.
The facilities don't seem to be that great here as I saw on other Polish clubs, certainly if you've been to Rosa Private the day before.
The course is a parkland course, rather tight at some places, and water comes into play at several holes. I never felt entirely comfortable at this course, I maybe had hoped for a bit better. But it is pretty well maintained.
Clubhouse is located in a sort of tented area.
