Milnerton Golf Club

Just outside urban Capetown, Milnerton Golfclub is located on an lagoon peninsula that beautifuly mirrors the inland coastline. Running in straight parallel with the mainland soil the course features a true outward and inward nine, playing downwind or into the wind resoectively depending on the direction the weather gods have chosen that day. One thing at Milnerton is certain like night ‘n day, they’ve always turned up the blowers to 100. The club is modest featuring a simple clubhouse with a friendly caddiemaster, a canteen with a local junior eager to help you, and a couple of lingering course employees selling you used balls out of their locker for a couple of Rand when you come pick up your buggy. The conditioning is alright with excellent greens, exactly as expected. When playing the front nine you’re truly struggling to marry the wind, little course yardage stakes, the rental clubs and the scuffy old balls into coherent golf shots. However, there is no immediate need as the course is punishing yet fair, always featuring a safe play and the glory shot. After the outward nine you pass a delightful little halfway house, enabling you to replenish on supplies for the remainder of your round in the blistering Africa heat. The true spectacle begins on the inward nine, as you keep approaching the coast with ultimately some truly breathtaking views of Capetown and the Table Mountain in the background. The climax comes at hole 14, a par 3 straight into the Atlantic Ocean, with unparalleled vistas over the Capetown lagoon. The walk is excellent value for money and the company is always delightful. People are just here to enjoy their time, share stories from around the world and play some good old British colonial style Golf!

Zeer mooi gelegen course. Constant naast de zee en meestal met Tafelberg op de achtergrond. Niet al te moeilijk omdat de meeste rough er niet is. Maar wel zeer moeilijk als de wind opsteekt. Minimale practice. Zeer amicale sfeer. Half way house laat toe te ontbijten met zicht op tafelberg

We enjoyed our round of 18 holes here at Milnerton. Beautiful location next to the sea with the most stunning views. We had the luck not to have the most windy day, this can be a challenge sometimes. We were coupled with two other players and had a very fun day with them!

Ein rundum gelungener Tag auf einem Platz, den man bei einem Kapstadt-Besuch auf keinen Fall verpassen sollte!

Nice golf course. This was the first golftime this year. Easy open linksstyle course. Good qualitet of fairways and greens. Recommend this course for everyone middelhcp player.
