Fraserburgh Golf Club: Omdömen

After playing the main 18 hole course we decided to play the Redhill course and was a very pleasant, enjoyable little 9 hole course. There isn’t anything particularly ground breaking or breath taking about the course, it’s a fairly straight forward par 33, mainly consisting of mid-range par 4s and a handful of par 3s.

Fraserburgh is a very intriguing course situated about an hour north from Aberdeen. The course has a mixture of some very interesting and cool holes and some which are a little uninspiring. Echte Links baan in Noord-oost Schotland. Het een van de oudste clubs van de wereld. Ontstaan in 1777 met volwaardige activiteiten op de huidige locatie vanaf ongeveer 1882. Je begint op hole l1 angs de weg parallel aan hole 18 in het veld. Vervolgens speel je bij verschillende holes over de enorme duinen die er liggen. Flinke klimmetjes op fairways en naar greens. El 7º club de golf mas antiguo del mundo (5° en Escocia), ahí es nada… Sabia que Fraserburgh debía ser bueno pero ha superado con creces mis expectativas. Lo encuentro muy bueno y a la vez muy jugable. Al no haber prácticamente gorse hace que difícilmente pierdas muchas bolas y esto se agradece (evita solamente ir al rough muy espeso). Wat een geweldig mooie linksbaan. Een Old Course begin/eind met in elkaar overlopende fairways. Na de eerste begint de baan echt. Veel glooiende holes met uitzicht op de zee. Onderhoud is zeer goed. DrivingRange/oefenfaciliteiten liggen achter in de baan, dus handiger is om naar de ernaast gelegen DrivingRange (met shop en TopTracer) te gaan om ff warm te worden. Daarna g… Mer

Een prachtige linkscourse met veel oefenfaciliteiten met je eigen golfballen zoals pitchveld en chipveldje en puttinggreen. Het ontvangst is uiterst vriendelijk en kregen goed uitgelegd waar we heen moesten voor de 18 h baan de 9 h baan is ook erg populair maar die doen we de volgende keer er wel bij na de 18 h. A hidden gem! The first hole is a weird start as it appears some kind of a landing strip, but then you start climbing the dunes. Each hole is different and with different challenges, Stay tuned and think where and how to play if you want to score here. Some great views over Fraserburgh. Clubhouse is outdated but that is in itself nice. Great hospitality and welcome.

Meraviglioso. L'ospitalità stupenda.

In de middag in Fraserburgh, industriele vissersplaats, aangekomen, wilden we de baan even bekijken en alvast een tee time boeken voor een volgende dag. In het clubhuis werden we gelijk vriendelijk aangesproken door een van de leden (bestuurslid?), terwijl hij ons een van zijn gefrituurde inktvisringen aanbood. Fraserburgh is really gem and if you are playing Cruden Bay you really should make the trio further north. As well as a warm welcome in the clubhouse it is superb value for money. Fraserburgh could well be the best golf course in Scotland in terms of quality for price. And, besides that, hole after hole, the course manages to surprise the golfer, at the same time as it poses challenges and questions to him as few other courses, specially when the ground is as firm and fast as we found it. En bana att spela. Väl värd att resa till. Gästfriheten på högsta nivå En Svensk flagga var hissad på vår väg mot 1:a tee.

Leuke links baan. Weinig zicht op zee door de hoge rij duinen, maar de baan wordt daar niet minder mooi door. Heel uitdagend en prima onderhouden. Vermijd de bunkers! Eigenlijk niks op de baan aan te merken, heerlijk rondje gelopen!

Get ready to walk some hills…Course in good shape…Some blind shots…Some narrow approaches…I had the entire course to myself on a Tuesday... Fraserburgh Golf Club, the seventh oldest in the World, delivers no frills, classic links golf on a very impressive scale. Geweldige golfbaan vol met uitdagingen. Doordat het weer in Schotland in oktober wat wisselvallig kan zijn is mijn verwachting van deze golfbaan niet helemaal uitgekomen.
