Golf Club Abenberg

Hier hadden we al jaren niet meer gespeeld en ik moet zeggen, het viel ons wat tegen. De baan is heel licht glooiend, maar totaal niet verrassend. Heel voorspelbaar, weinig variatie, wel goed onderhouden, maar om nou te zeggen: hier rij ik een blokje voor om, nee, dat niet. Wij verwachten in het buitenland altijd wat anders dan bij ons, en dat was hier niet het geval. Ach ja, slecht was het echt niet, beetje saai. Leisure Breaks van toepassing.

Sehr schöner 27-Loch-Platz. Die Grüns mittelschnell und teilweise onduliert. Parklandkurs mit teilweise breiten Fairways, alter Baumbestand, einige Wasserhindernisse. Im Großen und Ganzen eher flach bis auf eine Spielbahn welche einiges abverlangt. Leider ist der Platz auch etwas trocken, aber die Fairways gut in Schuss weil bewässert. Grüns mittelschnell und sehr schön gepflegt. Restaurant gut. Empfang im Sekretariat sehr freundlich. Parkplatz leider etwas staubig.

A golf club which is embedded in pure nature. Therefore the quality of the greens and tee boxes are good. The A C slopes play a bit different but smooth. There are polite people and overall a really good experience.

I was passing by the course on my way home, so decided to play.

With Google maps navigation its easy to find. Clubhouse is next to the main road not far from interesting burg. Very friendly check in, with no problem to play right away. I did not go to driving range because I do not normally do, but I always check the facility. This time one of the reason was that I was lazy to walk there.

resort has three 9 hole loops. My selection was A+C, pity that I did not played B cause it looked like more located in forest and trees.

This resort offers also parking lots for RV and you can also have parking spot where you can leave your dog in the car cause its covered, very much appreciated.

So let the game begin, A loop starts with shorter par 4 very you can easily score par. It will take you to the open field, where you will realize that design is not that interested, however quality is really good. All the fairways and greens there are really, really huge. You will not lose the ball, only in water, but there is not much such a danger. As expected once again all the courses in Germany are from yellow tees about 6000m, therefore all the par3 are quite long. What I really appreciate the quality of bunkers, they have just perfect amount of sand and are well maintained. You will also appreciate the broken tee bins.

The signature hole on A loop was for me hole number 9, with nice burg view.

C loop will lead you bit more in the trees and there will be some longer walks between holes. Description is pretty much same like for A loop. I will just point out the hole number 8, which was nice par 4 surrounded by trees.

Overall the course is really underrated, and I can recommend to every one for relaxing round of golf.

Pity that I did not had time to talk to manager and eat in restaurant to finalize the overall picture.
