Second stop in Lithuania for golf.

We arrived after visiting Trakai castle, around 7pm. Arriving to already calm course. Few people were on putting green, after 1 hour everyone left and we were only the guests at parking lot and we enjoy cal and relaxing place. What a treat for tired soul and mind, this is what vacation is about. Short putting session during sunset and off to bed for morning golf session.

We were lucky to have great receptionist, sales manager from course to check us in. She suggest we take buggy and it was great advice.

At Capitals, there is everything what you need for your game and good practice, decent putting green, chipping area and big enough driving range, just few steps away from clubhouse. Clubhouse inside is very traditional. Ground floor with cloak rooms and small pro shop, reception than through the doors to nice restaurant with deck observing 18th green.

However back to the game. Opening teeshot need a bit of courage to go over the hazard on left and right side and than secon shot uphill. Than you will go pretty much every hole up or downhill tee shot. I love it I live for those shots. Fairways are wide open with rough which allows you to find ball and hit it with extra club. We can see that weather is bit dry there as well, cause fairways and bunkers were bit harder and dry, however still green enough. Some of the bunkers had washed off edges from heavy rain few weeks ago and mud pothole inside, it was bit unplayable, but I beleive it will be fixed before main season. However greens were perfect fast enough for average player with good roll and not many breaks. Front nine is more up and down with less hazard than back nine. Back nine has more water and its more in open area. We enjoy very much shorter par 3 than on other courses. Its more fun to score. Always like to point out signature hole or favorite holes for me, here it would be hole 6,10,13,15.

So overall for me it was pleasant surprise and great day at great course with very pleasant and hospitable staff, and I wish to come back soon with friends. I recommend to visit this club to explore the Baltic countries courses. Its affordable and great place to visit.

Moc pěkné hřiště, krásně tvarované jamky, rozmanité. Krásné velké greeny, odpaliště v dobrém stavu, minimum návštěvníků. Personál milý, přátelský, nápomocný. Pěkný golfový zážitek.

Zeer mooie en interessante baan in een heuvelachtig terrein. Je kunt er prima lopen met een trolley.

De baan is ruim opgezet met mooie vergezichten. De golfbaan was zeer goed onderhouden. De greens waren snel en goed onderhouden, fairways waren verder prima. De drivingrange is eenvoudig. Gastvrijheid van het personeel is prima. Het uitzicht van vanaf het clubhuis is mooi.

Four historical capitals of Lithuania Kernavė, Trakai, Kaunas and Vilnius are located in almost equal distances from this spectacular golf course hence the name of the club. The course sits on vast, hilly piece of land with back nice bordering lakes. Several downhill opening shots which is always a nice bonus for a walking only golfer. Course main defense are greens which are massive in size, remind me greens of Postołowo. Size of greens makes three putts almost impossible to avoid. Greens were of average speed, firm and smooth. Fairways were very dry when we played the course needs a few days of solid rain to get back to normal. Clubhouse catches an eye with wooden outfits and nice interior. Restaurant has a nice terrace which overlooks 18th hole. And 18th hole was the hardest hole to us despite it being par 5 with tough, narrow opening shot, balls running to the left on the approach landing area and yet another monumental, multi level green. Bogey is a very good score on this finishing hole.

Sehr schöner Platz. Kein einziges langweiliges Loch. Einige blinde Schläge nötig und erschwerend kommt hinzu, daß der Platz nicht in der Mobitee-App gelistet ist. Auf den Übersichten an den Abschlägen fehlen zudem Entfernungsangaben zu Hindernissen. Das alles machen aber die spannenden Bahnen wett.

Als Besitzer der Golfhäftet-Karte wollte man zunächst nur 25% Rabatt einräumen, machte jedoch später einen „Sonderpreis“, der in etwa den 50%-Rabatt entsprach.
