Royal Antwerp is home to Belgium's oldest golf club, dating back to 1888. Its current location in the Kapellenbos north of Antwerp, was established in 1912, and has since developed into one of the finest wooded heathland courses in north west Europe. The excellent sandy soil base is perfect for this style of course, with its copious quantities of heather and mature pine trees lining many of the fairways. The terrain is relatively flat, providing an easy-walking course, although one with plenty of inherent challenges, not least staying out of the trees and plentiful bunkering, and getting down in two on the usually immaculate and fast greens. Water ditches are scarce, making a brief appearance on just a couple of holes.

Tom Simpson CourseEindelijk Royal Antwerp kunnen afvinken! Wat een prachtige baan, super onderhouden zeker bij deze voor greenkeepers uitdagende omstandigheden (droogte) Beste greens waar ik sinds lang op gespeeld heb: zeer receptief, eerlijk en SNEL. Dikke pluim voor het baanpersoneel. Range is verouderd, clubhuis is klein maar functioneel en restaurant is top. Heel lekker gegeten. Het is een duur golfuitstapje maar absoluut de moeite waard. Top in België!

Tom Simpson CourseDe Royal Antwerp Golf Club is de oudste club van België, en dat merk je van zodra je het terrein oprijdt. Het clubhuis straalt sfeer en traditie uit. De baan ligt op zandgrond en het natuurpark “De Kalmthoutse Heide” ligt vlakbij. Die zandgrond vind je ook terug in de vele bunkers van goede kwaliteit. De golfbaan is zeer mooi in het bos/heide landschap ingebed. En die golfbaan ligt er prachtig bij. Snelle mooie greens, prachtig onderhouden fairways en rough waar je beter wegblijft. Oefenfaciliteiten zijn zeer goed, clubhuis en terras eveneens. Spelen op de RAGC is een ervaring en zeer aan te bevelen.

Tom Simpson CourseThe club and it’s surroundings are very beautiful. Playing here made me feel completly disconnected from the outerworld. Practice facilities are up to par. However the range doesn’t have trackmans available. With a club of this history and posture you would have expected that.

Dormy House CourseNaar het schijnt de oudste bosbaan van Belgie , we werden zeer goed ontvangen en de oefenfaciliteiten zijn top hier in Kapellen. Deze course ligt er begin mei al fantastisch bij , mooie fairways , snelle greens alles was fantastisch onderhouden. Ik denk dat m’n hier verzor is op bunkers want ik denk dat alle greens omgeven waren door deze. Na de wedstrijd nog effe genoten van het zonnetje op hun leuke terras.

18 holesThe excellent sandy soil base is perfect for this type of course, with its copious quantities of heather and mature pine trees lining many of the fairways. The terrain is relatively flat, providing an easy walking course, although one with plenty of inherent challenges, not least staying out of the trees and plentiful bunkering, and getting down in two on the usually immaculate and fast greens. Water hazards are scarce and only in play on a couple of holes. At over 6600 yards from the back tees the course plays long enough for the vast majority of golfers, especially if there's a bit of wind blowing around between the pines. Course management and good placement will serve you just as well if you want to score well.
