Royal Óbidos Golf CourseThe course itself is certainly challenging enough for everyone – plenty of water, doglegs and so on – which means your course management skills will be put to the test here and there. It’s great that there are two strategically placed toilets, giving you four opportunities to visit them. Contrary to what I’d been told on two occasions, the buggy bar was nowhere to be seen. But luckily there were two water holes. The driving range isn’t much to shout about, but you can do what you need to do: practise. In short: a great course, certainly worth a second visit so you know what to expect; I found the facilities a bit sparse, though.

Royal Óbidos Golf CourseProper championship course with plenty of challenging shots. Fairly wide off the tee and the par 3’s are fairly short (from yellow). Condition of fairways and greens excellent. Friendly staff and good food.

Royal Óbidos Golf Course
18 bucheIl tracciato del campo si estende per circa 7.300 metri dal tee di fondo e rappresenta una vera prova di golf per i giocatori di tutti i livelli. La prima buca, un generoso dogleg a destra, si dirige verso nord, dando vita a una spettacolare combinazione di buche con vista sulla laguna (Lagoa de Óbidos). La buca caratteristica delle prime nove è la 3, un Par 3 di 144 m dal tee giallo a un green a isola, con la splendida laguna di Óbidos sullo sfondo. Le seconde nove buche si affacciano sull'Oceano Atlantico. Sei delle buche si snodano tra un intricato ecosistema di laghi collegati tra loro da ruscelli a cascata. Il punto culminante delle ultime nove buche è la 18, un Par 5 di 490 metri dai tee gialli, con una vista panoramica sulle ultime nove buche, sulla clubhouse e sull'Oceano.
