Wonderful golf club and golf course. Excellent condition and great facilities, obviously because the club is well funded by a prominent membership. Superb putting green that wraps around an old tree. Our group was fortunate to play while the rhododendrons were in full bloom, which made for many beautiful backdrops. From what I was told, the greens and bunkers were renovated by Frank Pont and Hendrik Hilgert and their bunkers and greens are fantastic and challenging. It's a tough course to understand on first playing (with regard to where to put your ball), but I hope to play it a 2nd time now that I know more of the strategy. Particularly on the tricky 2nd hole (with the diagonal stream that requires clever navigation) and the wonderful blind drive on the 4th...which is really my favourite hole, what a gem of a short par 4.

Ongelofelijk mooie baan. We hebben hier twee keer gespeeld, terwijl maar één keer de bedoeling was. We zouden op 19 aug de Pan spelen op weg terug naar huis, maar hebben er voor gekozen om deze baan nog eens te spelen. Onderhoud is enorm goed, zelfs met gestoken greens! Er lag geen grassprietje fout op die baan.

Erg mooie baan, vriendelijke mensen. De prijs vinden wij iets te hoog, maar het is dan ook geen commerciële baan.

Playing Golf und Land Club Köln felt like stepping back in time—in the best possible way. This course is classic, old-school, and absolutely beautiful. Nestled in the Refrath area, the course winds through mature trees with tight fairways and well-placed bunkers that really reward accuracy over power. It’s not flashy, but it’s steeped in tradition and history. I found the design to be elegant and thoughtful. You really have to think your way around this course, and every shot counts. It’s easy to see why it has hosted so many top-tier tournaments over the years. The maintenance was flawless during my visit—the greens were quick and true, and the overall ambiance was peaceful and refined. The clubhouse is just as impressive, with a lovely terrace overlooking the course and a restaurant that serves a fine mix of local and international dishes. It’s not a place to rush through—this is a course and a club you savor. The only challenge seems to be accessibility. As a guest, it wasn’t easy to get a weekend tee time, and the club does seem to cater primarily to its members. I was fortunate enough to be invited by a friend, which made things easier. If you’re looking for a traditional, challenging round in a stunning setting, Golf und Land Club Köln should absolutely be on your radar. It’s not the easiest to get into, but it’s worth every bit of effort.
