Halsted Kloster Golfklub

Jeg havde aldrig hørt om denne golfbane men den overraskede mig meget positivt.

Jeg var dog ved at misse en lille indkørsel, men sikke et cute klubhus og et hyggeligt område omkring. Mødte en venlig imødekommende kvinde som hjalp mig igen og ønskede en god tur.

Ganske fin og helt flade første 9 huller hvor jeg især nød hul 6 hvor der er massere af vand i spil -modvinden gjorde det endnu mere spændende.

Jeg var også vild med hul 9 -sjovt dogleg left.

Bag 9 var noget mere kuperet og favoritten er hul 14 hvor den eleveret teebox giver den smukkeste udsigt.

Her er massere af heste, store rovfugle og kvæg. Den smukke Allé langs hul 18 afslutter en dejlig runde.

I have played this course quite a bit, as I grew up in this area, and my Mom still lives there.

Overall, this is your typical Danish parkland golf course located on the outskirts of the country, which means maintenance and resources are what they are. The design is kind of boring, but if you just want to find a game, it get's the job done.

The front nine is rather flat and uneventful, with the best holes being the short par 5 4th, and the short dogleg left par 4 9th.

The back nine is much more undulating but also rather uneventful. What most people remember is the monsterous par 5 13th that measures 563 meters/616 yards, and is often played into the wind. The par 4 14th has a nice elevated tee shot and a nice green area, but that's pretty much it.

The short par 4 18th used to be the most beautiful hole on the course, but last year the club decided to remove almost all the trees on the left side, making the holes feel less special and very "vanilla". I'm sure they had a good reason, but it really killed the vibe of the hole.

Halsted Kloster is an ok option if you are in the area (where options are scarce), but I wouldn't travel to play it.
