Dutch race fans have been waiting for the Formula 1 to return to Zandvoort for many years and their prayers have finally been heard. It is bound to be a spectacular and memorable race as the CM.com Circuit Zandvoort is steeped in history and has a unique location amidst the dunes near the sea.

It's also a special place for F1 lovers who are also into golf, as the circuit is near some of the finest golf courses in The Netherlands. When the KLM Dutch Open was played at The Kennemer Golf and Country Club, visitors actually had to park on the race track. It's that close.

Where to find golf courses near the Dutch Grand Prix Zandvoort

If you're visiting the Dutch Grand Prix and feel like playing golf, we've listed 5 golf courses that are within a 12 km radius of the race track. So if you have some time on your hands, give these courses a try.

The Dunes (400 meters from Zandvoort Circuit)

No golf course is located closer to the Zandvoort race track than The Dunes. If you climb up the hill behind the green of the first hole, you can actually see the "Masters" corner of the circuit, how appropriate!

Unfortunately the the golf course is so close to the circuit, that it's closed during the days before and after the race. But nonetheless, this is a golf course every F1 lover should visit.

Kennemer Golf & Country Club (2 km from Zandvoort Circuit)

The Kennemer Golf & Country Club is structurally rated as one of the best golf clubs in The Netherlands. The course was founded in 1910 and has hosted the Dutch Open a whopping 23 times.

The course is located just behind the sea in undulating dunes and consists of three sets of nine holes, which are named after former executive and honorary member Mr. SJH van Hengel and golf architects Frank Pennink and Harry Colt.

The Course is located 2km from the race track.

Haarlemmermeersche Golfclub (9 km from Zandvoort Circuit)

At 9 kilometers from the Zandvoort Race Track you will find the Haarlemmermeersche Golfclub. This varied course is located in the area between the Ringvaart, the Floriade grounds and the Meerbos. The three nine hole loops are a combination of a Dutch landscape with blooming bulb fields,  park landscape, and wooded areas.

Golfbaan Tespelduyn (11 km from Zandvoort Circuit)

Golfbaan Tespelduyn is a nine hole course located approx. 20 minutes from both Amsterdam and The Hague and only 11 kilometers from the race track.

Tespelduyn is a challenging and diverse par-32 golf course with 9 holes covering a distance of 1825 meters. The difference in the elevation of 23 meters makes this golf course very special (for Dutch standards) and extra challenging for every golfer. The elevated holes are characterized by the beautiful panoramic views across the flower bulb fields.

Noordwijkse Golfclub (12 km from Zandvoort Circuit)

Our fifth and final golf course near the Dutch Grand Prix Zandvoort is still only 12 kilometers away from the circuit. The Noordwijkse is one of the best golf courses in the Netherlands and also ranks high in Continental Europe. The combination of its layout near the North Sea shore, which gives it its links character, the remarkable views and architecture make this course very challenging.

Book tee times at Dutch golf courses

Although The Netherlands is not very well known as a particular golf destination, it could very well be. The Netherlands only covers a little piece of land, but the density of golf courses is very high. Within a 2-hours drive from Amsterdam you can visit over 250 golf clubs, including some of the worlds best.

Due to the lack of golf tourism it has never been a necessary commodity for golf courses to sell tee times online to visitors. However, - partially due to the corona pandemic - golf courses in the Netherlands have started working with an online tee time reservation system. As a result of that, more and more golf courses become directly bookable on Leadingcourses.com. Click here for a selection of Dutch Golf Courses that are bookable on Leadingcourses.com.
