The golf course opened in August 2003 and is considered to be one of the best in Spain. The main building covers almost 6000 sq.m on the top of a hill from where you have great views of the Reserva de Sotogrande Golf Course.

4. Real Club Sevilla Golf

Renowned for its superb golf, Real Club Sevilla Golf is recognised as one of Europe’s greatest golf courses. Major worldwide events support its prestige, consolidating it as one of the best international golf courses. This privileged enclave has unrivalled sports facilities and makes it the ideal place to do sport and enjoy it with the family. It features Clubhouse, Sports Club, Kids Club, a bar and a restaurant.

5. Club de Golf Bellavista

Bellavista Golf Club is the oldest golf club in Andalusia with more than 100 years of history! Situated an hour from the city of Seville and right next to the Atlantic Coast, the course offers sensational views, a perfect climate for playing golf all year round and a strategic location next to the most beautiful and most visited cities in Spain.

The fairways are wide and the distance between greens and tees is short which makes for a comfortable, fast and pleasant game. As well as spending a fantastic day playing golf, the location of the course means you can visit the beach or enjoy the local food and wine.

6. Isla Canela Old Course

Isla Canela’s proximity to the sea and its lush vegetation make it a wonderful place for a great round of golf. In fact, it is considered to be one of the best courses in Spain. It’s a very comfortable course with small slopes formed by the natural dunes, but it is the vegetation and, more specifically, the trees that make the round tricky on occasions as there are palms, orange, olive and eucalyptus trees situated at strategic points around the course.

The lakes surrounding some of the holes are spectacular and are in fact saltwater lakes as they come straight in from the sea. The par-5 2nd, surrounded by water and deep bunkers, deserves a special mention for its beauty and level of difficulty.

7. Los Naranjos Golf Club

The Los Naranjos golf course is situated in "Golf Valley ", just a few kilometres from Marbella. It has undergone major changes during its second period when it hosted major international tournaments. Los Naranjos is experiencing a new era and a sign of this is the new clubhouse and the improvements to the fairways.

Although the fairways, like the bunkers, are wide, it is not an easy round and you will need to hit long and accurate shots to continue to make par hole after hole. There is a big difference between the first 9 holes and the back 9, so much so that you might almost think you were playing on two different courses.

On the first 9, the fairways are quite wide though pretty uneven and both the trees and the water act as natural hazards. On the second stretch, the course is flatter and sown with orange trees ("naranjos” in Spanish), so it's not hard to guess where the club gets its name.

8. Marbella Club Golf Resort

Marbella Club Golf Resort has a beautiful 18 Hole Golf Course, designed by Dave Thomas. Situated amidst the hills of Benahavis, this magnificent Marbella golf course in the heart of the Costa del Sol enjoys spectacular views of Gibraltar, the African Coastline, the Mediterranean and the surrounding mountains.

With limited play and twelve minutes between tee times, over-crowded rounds are not a concern at the Marbella Club Golf Course. Required handicaps: Ladies 36, Gentleman 28.

9. Desert Springs Resort & Golf Club

Located on the Mediterranean coast of southeastern Spain, on a plateau overlooking the Almanzora Valley, Desert Springs Resort & Golf Club is Europe’s first-ever Arizona-style desert golf course.

Designed by Peter McEvoy, Desert Springs Resort & Golf Club is built to full USGA specifications and is well worth the visit. Its immaculate fairways are set amongst massive rocky outcrops, arroyos and dry rivers. The vivid contrast of the ‘desert springs’ and the emerald green fairways with the arid landscape of cactus, rock and flowering desert, is stunning at all times of the year. The whole golfing vision is framed within a panorama of landmark mountain ranges.

Over 600,000 cacti and other desert plants grow progressively more dense and troubling, the further your shot is off the fairway. So the course is both demanding and exciting, providing a variety of shot-making challenges to test the skill level of every player, from beginner to professional.

10. Golf Torrequebrada

Golf Torrequebrada is located near Marbella and Malaga. Regarded as one of the better courses in Spain, one of the main features is the variety in the design of its fairways. Because of this variety, you need to think carefully about club choice on every shot. Whether you’re a beginner or a more advanced player, both will have the opportunity to take on every hole and enjoy them all, regardless of handicap.

The greens at Torrequebrada are quite special due to their size and undulation. Numerous lakes and strategically placed bunkers make this course a real test. Over 100 varieties of trees line the fairways. As a bonus, you get some beautiful views of the coast of the Mediterranean coast.
