Cumberwell Park Golf Club

Cumberwell park is a great set up for a golf break. There are four 9 hole courses and a par 3 course. Another 9 and a second par 3 are under construction.

The four 9 hole courses are all different in style (parkland, woodland, water and links) so there is a wide variety of different types of holes. Some of the holes over water are spectacular.

The courses, like a lot of resort courses are quite forgiving (as long as you avoid the water, you have a good chance of being able to find/play even the most wayward of tee shots).

I would definitely go back and would be happy to play any combination of the 9 holes (the red and yellow were my favourites).

The clubhouse, situated near the 9th holes of each course is spacious and modern. We were slightly peckish after our round so ordered chicken goujons and chips from the light bites menu - the food was delicious and the portions were large (I would have been happy with it as a main meal rather than a light bite - I couldn’t finish it all).

Cumberwell Park is located just 5 minutes north of Bradford-on-Avon and approximately 20 minutes to the east of Bath. The park boasts four loops of nine holes, each with their own unique style- Blue, Orange, Red, and Yellow. Additionally, there is an exceptional 9-hole par 3 course that features an island green you will pass on your way in.

The clubhouse is an impressive structure that serves as the central hub of Cumberwell Park. The starting and finishing holes are conveniently situated behind the clubhouse, enabling you to book 18 holes or more of golf using different combinations of the 9 holes as per your preference. A well-stocked Pro shop is available for all your equipment needs, including branded goods.

The Bar and Restaurant offer delicious and generous portions that are sure to satisfy even the most substantial appetite. They also offer fantastic views of the Red and Yellow final greens, providing an ideal spot to unwind after a long day of golf. Furthermore, the warm-up facilities are of the highest quality, with a large driving range, putting greens, and an excellent short game area.

The Red and Yellow courses have all the charm of a classic English parkland course, with their mature trees, streams, and undulating fairways. The greens on the Red course are enormous, which can make for higher-than-average putting stats, even though you may have a high GIR rate. Although not the easiest holes, they are not particularly challenging if you can keep your ball relatively straight. On the other hand, the Orange and Blue courses are quite different from the previous ones, with the Orange resembling more of a Links course with downland-like drainage. It's a fun 9 to play and, with its elevated position, offers the best views of the entire property. The Blue Course is, in my opinion, the most challenging 9 on the property, with water coming into play on 5 of its 9 holes. The Par 3 8th, classified as the 26th, is a fabulous 172-yard (Yellow) hole that requires carrying water almost the entire distance to the green.

While Cumberwell Park does not have an onsite hotel, there are cottages that can be rented on the grounds. Plans are currently underway to expand the par 3 courses from 9 holes to 18, and with many other grand plans in the pipeline, Cumberwell Park is only going to get better with time. If you're in the Bath Area, I highly recommend a visit to this incredible golfing destination.

First impression it's an amazing setup. Only previous visit was about 20 years ago when it was new. Brilliant how they get everyone started. Course and greens very good for late September. Will definitely return.

Great to have 4 x 9 holes and a good par 3 all in one golf club. Excellent short game area too as well as good practice facilities. The courses are all quite different from one another but all suffer from poor drainage during periods of prolonged rainfall over the winter months. Greens are pretty good and medium speed. Some of the water holes are quite spectacular and take concentration. Holes quite short in general so good course for the shorter hitters. Club house and pro shop good and plenty of space upstairs for formal meals and larger Groups.

Quatre fois neuf trous qui peuvent se combiner selon l'humeur ou les disponibilités: le choix varie entre un parcours de links, de parc, d'eau ou de forêt. L'ensemble est bien entretenu, les fairways sont larges et chaque parcours a ses attraits mais aussi ses difficultés. Le greenfee est très raisonnable pour la qualité du terrain.
