Infinitum Golf

Today I played the Ruïnes Hills Ruïnes combination, because part of the Hills course is being renovated. It is a beautiful course to play with sufficient challenge. I can't wait to return in October to play the 18-hole Hills course.

Vandaag de Hills course gespeeld. Eerst super aardig geholpen door Kevin bij de balie die mijn Golfy app regelde waardoor ik vandaag min of meer gratis speelde. De greens zijn de beste die ik tot nu nog toe ben tegengekomen! De baan is prachtig en de natuur is fantastisch onderhouden. Je hoort wat kindergeluid van plezier die in de achtbaan verderop zitten. En af en toe zie je wat flats om je heen. Maar echt een baan om aan te raden.

We played both courses over a couple of days and it was a nice mix, but to be honest one clearly stood out. The Hills course felt like the “main event”. You can tell it’s been recently redone, everything just feels cleaner and more intentional. The fairways were in great shape, greens rolled really nicely, and the whole layout keeps you interested without being too punishing. It’s the kind of course where you actually remember a few holes afterwards, not just another round. The Lakes course was decent but a bit more forgettable. It’s more open and easier off the tee, which is fine, but it doesn’t have the same character. There are a couple of good holes, but overall it just didn’t grab me in the same way. Condition was okay, just not at the same level as Hills. Facilities are good and it works well for a golf trip, especially if you’re playing more than one round. Staff were friendly enough, nothing special but all smooth. If I went back, I’d definitely make sure to play Hills again. Lakes is fine to add on, just don’t expect it to match it.

We played both courses here and it actually felt like two different experiences in the same place. Started on the Lakes, which is more open and forgiving. You can swing a bit more freely off the tee and it’s quite a relaxed round overall. A few holes are nice, especially around the water, but it didn’t really stick with me afterwards. The Hills course was a different story. You can tell it’s been updated, it just feels sharper and more interesting from the first few holes. You have to think a bit more about where you place the ball and it keeps you engaged the whole way round. Not overly difficult, just better designed. Facilities are good and it works well for a couple of rounds in one trip. Everything ran smoothly and no issues on the day.
