The Golf House Club Elie: Bewertungen

We agree with my caddy and wife that Elie is the most charming links course we have ever played. Totally in love of this course designed by the great local player James Braid.

Vuelta jugada en Mayo de 2023. Campo corto y técnico, sin pares 5. Si pones la bola en el sitio desde el tee, tendrás grandes opciones de hacer pocos golpes. Diseño precioso aprovechando la geografía del terreno con greenes duros y que reciben en muchas ocasiones cuesta abajo. La primera vuelta es bastante más sencilla que la segunda.

Great course with a couple of amazing holes near the sea. The wind made playing hard, especially on a short par 3 (hole 11) of only 130 yards, which played like 180 yards. Clubhouse is great, very traditional style (no jeans allowed inside). As we played it the first time, sometimes it was a bit tricky to find the right direction, but we managed to find the greens. Super mooie baan om te spelen. Toch ook een beetje een dubbel gevoel. Had er, gezien de eerdere beoordelingen, meer van verwacht. In de omgeving van North Berwick heb ik Dunbar, Gullane, Glen en Craigielaw gespeeld. Deze banen hebben toch mijn voorkeur. Desalniettemin, spelen als je toch naar Fife gaat.

Erg mooie baan. Snelle Greens en brede fairways. Baan is niet lang maar veel blinde holes waardoor het moeilijk wordt om een inschatting te maken hoe lang de bal mag zijn. Leuk dat je op hole 1 met een periscoop kan zien wanneer de andere flight mag afslaan. Mooie vergezichten van de zee. Het was een hele fijne golfdag met veel vriendelijke lokale gasten.

The Golf House Club in Elie was established in 1888, even for Scottish standards we quite some time ago. Elie is just stunning! I have played there a few times and I just felt so welcomed by the staff in the pro shop. The course is a true links course and I could play it over and over again and it is a true test every time. Spectaculaire golfbaan langs strand, cliffen en zeehonden. Iets minder bekend in de regio maar zeker het bezoeken waard. De baan start en eindigt in het dorp. Deze baan klopt gewoon qua layout en is helemaal in harmonie met het landschap. Enige minpuntje: geen par-5 holes. Dit is echter geen uitzondering in Schotland.

Een oud-engelse golfclub met dames-, heren- en een mixed ruimte in het clubhuis. Vooral de holes aan de kust zijn schitterend. Als je naar St Andrews gaat om te golfen is dit zeker een aanrader.

Fantastische golfbaan 'midden in' het dorp. Een en al karakter en historie. Niet heel lang, maar zeer speciale layout en holes. De verplichte hoge sokken onder de korte broek maakten het plaatje compleet.

Wat een ontzettend leuke baan is dit toch. Deze keer met de goarse in bloei en héél veel zeehonden bij de 10e green. Prachtig, een absolute aanrader. Nog een beetje moeilijk gedoe met de damesleden maar dat wordt ook steeds beter. Holes 13 en 14,15 wat saai maar voor de rest allemaal toppers. Zeker het slot het stadje weer in is prachtig. Onder normale omstandigheden een ontzettend leuke baan met de periscoop bij de starter op de eerste hole als "eye-opener". Helaas was er vorige week (laatste week april 2011) bijna niet te spelen door een ziekte in de greens. Zo jammer want de baan clubhuis en faciliteiten zijn perfect. De 10e hole is een topper.
