José María Olazábal was the brains behind the design of this 27-hole course situated on the coast of the province of Cadiz, covering an area of more than 400 hectares and belonging to two different municipalities, Rota and Chipiona. It is a course with wide and very versatile tees and so the game can be enjoyed by both professional players and those with a lower level of golf. The round is comfortable and there is plenty of water. The par-3 16th is particularly worth a mention as the green is surrounded by a lake. The course at Costa Ballena is considered to be one of the best courses in Spain, and there is also a prestigious golf school, a 9-hole course and a high-performance centre for professional players. It is situated 5 km from El Puerto de Santa María on the road to Rota. Next to the course there is a residential tourist complex of the same name offering an extensive range of options for accommodation.

Las Palmeras Los Olivos Los Ficus Een 27 holes baan met uitgebreide oefenfaceliteiten, driving range vanaf het gras wat altijd een pre is, het chippen, putten en de oefenbunker zijn uitzonderlijk ruim. De bunkers in de baan ook goed onderhouden met prima zand. Geen buggy nodig de baan is prima te lopen De baan is niet spectaculair maar bv de fantastische fairways maken het rondje prettig te lopen . Ik zag het meer als een oefen ronde ,op je gemak diverse slagen uitproberen. Rond de baan alles goed georganiseerd, clubhuis, proshop enz zijn ok .

Las Palmeras Los Olivos Los Ficus Wide fairways and no high rough made the courses easy to play. Well kept bunkers. Rather fast and moderately ondulated greens. Positive that they changed the 18 hole combination every day. On the negative side are the long walks between some of the holes.
Las Palmeras Los Olivos Sehr schöner und gut zu spielender Golfplatz. Layout etwas langweilig, meistens immer gerade aus. Mal übers Wasser, jedoch keine Doglegs. Wollten 3.50 Euro für Handtücher zum Duschen haben....
