Golf Premeno

It is not easy to reach the course in the mountains over winding roads! The course is challenging with cross sloping fairways and height differences. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed for that particular day but the advantage was that the course was very quiet. We were alone with the deer!

9 holes with double starting, in a beautiful mountain environment. Compared to previous years, when course maintanance was low and sloppy, the situation has siginificantly improved, both on the fairways and greens,making the experience very nice and enjoyable for all golfers. Together with the restaurant and the warm welcome of the secretary the day was lovely. Rent cart available if the upd and down gets too tiring.

Staying at Cannero Riviera the club is relatively nearby and the trip to the club is a beautiful drive already catching in some great views of the Lago Maggiore. Arriving at the club is like discovering a hidden gem, although a bit outdated gem looking at the locker room and practice facilities.

The reception at the bar was very friendly and welcoming. Greenfee is very reasonable (weekend 30 euro for 9 holes,25 euro for weekdays) and the rent of a golfcart is as one might expect (25 euro for 9 holes). I played on a sunday afternoon and we were with only two players on the course, which had a charm on its own. As tempartures where still quite high, I would recommend hiring a cart, also given the ondulation of the course.

The driving range is very basic and could use some improvement and esp. new balls (2 euro for 25 balls). The course itself has a nice design and although not especially long it provides some nice challenges both in slope and height, enough to make it challenging for all handicaps I believe. Unfortunately the fairways and especially the conditions of some greens were a bit of a disappointment. But the beautiful surroundings make up for a lot. If you play 18 holes there a alternative tee boxes, but the hardly provide new perspectives on the course in my opinion.

As I was the only one playing on completing hole 9, and after finishing my round the club house was almost deserted, I did not stay so I cannot review the bar and restaurant. On a busy day I can imagine you want to stay for a drink or a nice meal on the relaxed terrace overlooking the first hole.

Overall, I would recommend visiting this course for its beautiful surroundings and relaxed atmosphere but do not expect a championship course or smooth and fast greens. Just go for the experience and beautiful views, and with the 24 euro green fee it is hard to disappoint.

Lay out van de baan is echt mooi, echter de kwalteit van de baan teleurstellend.

Een 18 holes greenfee voor € 40 maakt de prijs kwalitietsverhouding wel terecht.

Golf de montagne, situé à 1000m d’altitude, composé de 9 trous avec doubles départs. Les pentes sont raides, en montée ou en descente suivant les trous, rarement a plat. Quelques départs en aveugle pour pimenter le tout. Les greens sont superbement bien entretenus, les fairway sont bien dans l’ensemble. Ce golf est soigné et vaut la peine, mais très physique. Il y a des voiturettes a disposition, détail à ne pas sous-estimer. Accueil sympathique.
