Harewood Golf Club

Tweede golfbaan van reis door Nieuw Zeeland. Harewood golfcourse is vlakbij het vliegveld van Christchurch. Geen probleem krijg je weinig van mee als je speelt. het is niet de meest aansprekende aankomst en locatie. Kwam misschien ook doordat er nog al wat werkzaamheden bezig waren rond het clubhuis. Clubhuis voldoet maar is niet bijzonder en sfeervol. Het was een drukke dag dus op hole 2 al aangelsoten bij de flight voor me. Alleraardigst koppel uit Australie. De baan ligt er op zich goed bij. Van teebox tot greens voldoende maar wat me een beetje tegenviel (of misschien ben ik ondertussen wel iets te verwend) was de layout. Het is niet heel bijzonder en er sprong niet echt 1 hole uit voor mijn gevoel. Heel wat holes waren voor mijn gevoel recht toe recht aan en leken qua uitdaging iets te veel op elkaar. Desondanks toch een leuke gezellige dag gehad mede door het gezelschap. Je kan hier zeker leuk golfen maar verwacht geen bijzondere dingen.

Harewood GC is close to Christchurch town and located with spectacular views of the Southern Alps and the Port Hills in the background. There are nice practice facilities and friendly staff to answer your questions. The course is well maintained and the fairways seem relatively flat but are, in fact, deceptively undulating. Also the greens have identical speed and makes putting consistent. Nice course to play and not overcrowded. Golf in New Zealand is fine during the summer.
