A 18 holes par 70 with an accepatable greenfee NZ$ 40. The course can be walked but has undulated fairways and sometimes serious elevations, so ask for a golf-cart if in doubt. The course has an open Character and wind play a big role. the course is not that long and fairways are generous. There are not that many bunkers mainly at the par 3 holes. Further some water hazards and out of bounds on hole1,8 and 16.

Greens are sometimes undulated and differ in size, speed of putting is identical. Overall a nice round under good summer conditions.

Warkworth is een prachtige goed onderhouden baan. Zeer glooiend en hoewel wij de baan gelopen hebben zonder buggy is dat wel een overweging vanwege het glooiende karakter. De ligging dichtbij de kust zorgt ervoor dat de wind menigmaal invloed zal hebben. De baan is gevarieerd in hoogte. Een paar mooie doglegs geven eveneens variatie, gemist worden wel een aantal bunkers ter hoogte van de eerste landings plaatsen vanaf de tee en rondom de greens. De greens waren op de dag van spelen snel en hebben hier en daar ook uitdagende slopes. Voor de prijs NZD 40,-- greenfee hoef je het zeker niet te laten en de huurset was van redelijke kwaliteit. De gastvrouw liet blijken het een eer te vinden dat we kwamen spelen. Helaas was de vakantie ten einde anders waren we beslist nog eens teruggekomen.

It is a typical NZ country golf club.

A fun but not-so-easy-as-it-looks lay-out with serious elevations and a lot of climbing involved (bring your heart rate monitor ;-).

Course can be a bit wet in Winter (clay based), but good conditions rest of the year.

Became much easier since they cut most of the old macrocarpa trees (2012).

My favourite holes are #6, a short downhill Par 4 and #12 uphill Par 3.

Cards can get ruined at #16, a downhill Par 3 with OB on the right (prevailing wind is left to right), so please don't hit the house on the right of the road!

Typical Kiwi golf clubhouse. Nice elevated country views. Good value-for-money.
