About Te Arai Links
Te Arai Links is a golf resort on the North Island of New Zealand. The resort is named after the Te Arai coast where it is located, north of Pakiri and south of Mangawhai. The property borders one of New Zealand’s prime surf beaches and includes 11 kilometres of ocean frontage and 225 acres of sand dunes. Te Arai Links boasts two pure links golf courses designed by Tom Doak and Bill Coore & Ben Crenshaw. Te Arai Links is a scenic 90-minute drive from the Auckland CBD, or 25 minutes by helicopter. The Playground is a 2-acre practice putting green. With 12-18 holes set up in a course arrangement on any given day, The Playground is ideal for a family-friendly putting competition after a round of golf, while enjoying some snacks and refreshments from Ric’s Pizza Barn. a brand new golfcourse when you look at the surroundings, the cabins, the restaurant and the reception. Lovely drivingrange facillities, the biggest practice green in the world, but most of all the best fairways and greens I've ever seen. I'm not the most experienced golfplayer in the world and play only in Europe. Mainly the Netherlands where everything is completely different. Slower greens en wetter and harder to play fairways. So Te Arai, Southcourse, was a wonderfull experience. I had rented gear and one of the clubs was broken unfortunatly. After I reported this the direction of the club inmediatly offert me to refund the rent. Top class reaction I should think. It was not the best round I've played but it was worth it, every penny.

Fun, extremely well conditioned modern links design... plenty of challenge created by Doak and his team, in a special dune complex.

The golf course is amazingly beautiful and scenic. It is quite playable with wide fairways, moderate length from the white tees, extremely fair putting surfaces. Wind was not blowing too hard on the days, conditions were perfect.
Everything is done to enhance the golfer experience and staff is great.
The huge and hilly putting green is fun, Ric’s barn has a good vibe and food is very good.
The only downside I see is the price of the green fee…and a bit disappointing not to offer a junior rate (i played with my 14 yo).

Very satisfying all round experience, with outstanding location, design and conditionning.

Courses at Te Arai Links
North Course
The North Course starts and finishes on the ocean, but the unique character of the course will be found inland. Seven of the 18 holes have an ocean view. Possibly the most dramatic holes on the course will be the 11th and 13th. The former is a long par-5 with an elevated green and a ‘whirlpool’ hazard to the right, some seven meters below the green. The 13th is a long par-4 with its green at the edge of a vast natural bunker, so second shots must be played over the sand or safely around to the left. It’s a hole very reminiscent of Pine Valley in New Jersey, and indeed so is much of the inland terrain at Te Arai. The North Course is to open in the fall of 2023.

South Course
The South Course at Te Arai Links has sixteen ocean-view golf holes and eight holes bordering directly on the sea. Without question, it will be a photogenic and visually stunning golf course. There are lengthy holes and finesse holes. There are holes with varying shapes and sizes, with character and golf strategies based upon the natural contours we discovered on site. Te Arai’s landforms vary from heaving sand ridges and meandering valleys to rumpled contours reminiscent of the classic seaside links on which the game began. These contours are the foundation and inspiration for the golf holes of Te Arai Links.
