two Finca Cortesin, but with a higher score for the golf course. Recently transformed into a true masterpiece by renowned golf architect 
Martin Ebert, the Ailsa provides golfers with an exceptional coastal 
golf experience which you might have witnessed during one of the four 
Open Championships it has hosted. Ebert was also responsible for the

How are the Best Golf Resorts rankings determined?

We love to analyse the reviews of 
our users to come up with &nbsp;interesting lists. This is also how the ‘Best
 Golf Resorts in Europe’ &nbsp;ranking started. As time went by, the list has
 improved significantly. &nbsp;Last year we decided to totally revamp our 
Best Golf Resorts in Europe list. One of the major discussions within 
<a href="https://www.leadingcourses.com" target="_blank">Leadingcourses.com</a> was: when does a combination of a golf course and 
hotel qualify as a resort? Is St. Andrews with the Old Course Hotel a 
resort? Does Royal County Down with the Slieve Donard Hotel across the 
road qualify as a resort? We felt not. 



We turned to Wikipedia for an answer or at least a proper definition: “The
 term resort may be used for a hotel property that provides an array of 
amenities, typically including entertainment and recreational 
activities. A hotel is frequently a central feature of a resort” 
(source: <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resort" target="_blank">Wikipedia</a>).&nbsp;So, having a hotel and a golf course is just not enough to be called a golf resort.

Criteria to be listed in Best Golf Resorts rankings

We have checked many rankings concerning ‘golf resorts’, but most of 
them do not really point out what they are listing. We wanted to change 
that. So, below we have listed our criteria to be in our Best Golf Resorts in Europe rankings: 



<ul><li>the rating of the golf club on Leadingcourses.com must be active, so we should have enough (recent) reviews</li><li>the rating of the resort or hotel on Booking.com must also be active</li><li>the (official) hotel must be located next to the golf course or must be located on the premises of the golf course.</li><li>the
 resort should include more facilities in addition to having a golf &nbsp;
course (for example a spa, tennis court, swimming pool, etc.)</li><li>the
 golf club should explicitly mention or refer to the specific resort or 
 hotel on its website (so linking to multiple hotels is not)</li></ul>



The criteria mentioned above mean that not every golf resort will be present in our Best Golf Resorts in Europe
 list. Resorts that are not listed on Booking.com – and thus do not have
 &nbsp;a rating which can be checked online – are not taken into account. &nbsp;
Resorts are also not listed if either their golf course or their &nbsp;
hotel/resort have not been reviewed enough (i.e. inactive rating). &nbsp;
Still, it’s a great starting point and all the resorts above can be 
booked via the Leadingcourses.com site which is very convenient as well! 



The overall rank is 50% based on the <a href="http://www.booking.com/index.en-gb.html?aid=321459" target="_blank">Booking.com</a>
 &nbsp;rating concerning the resort or hotel itself and 50% based on the 
rating of the golf club overall (including the courses, facilities, &nbsp;
etc.) on <a href="http://www.leadingcourses.com" target="_blank">Leadingcourses.com</a>.
 If resorts have equal scores, then the rating of the golf club determines who comes in first. We are all golfers, so that’s what we &nbsp;
find most important.

Since 2016 – as a teaser for our Golfers’ Choice rankings – we have been publishing the ranking for Best Golf Resorts in Europe. We’ve used our own review data and the reviews of our hotel partner Booking.com to provide a comprehensive list of the best golf resorts throughout Europe.

1. Trump Turnberry Resort: Mejor Resort de Golf in 2019

El Trump Turnberry Resort - Hogar del Campo de Ailsa - en South Ayrshire, Escocia ha alcanzado el puesto número 1 por primera vez. 1. Trump Turnberry Resort: Beste Golfresort in 2019

Het Trump Turnberry Resort in South Ayrshire, Schotland heeft voor het eerst de nummer-1 positie opgeëist. Hoe wordt het klassement van de beste golfresorts bepaald?

We analyseren graag de beoordelingen van onze gebruikers om tot interessante lijsten te komen. Zo is ook de 'Beste Golfresorts in Europa' ranking begonnen. In de loop der tijd is de lijst aanzienlijk verbeterd. Vorig jaar hebben we besloten om onze lijst met Beste Golf Resorts in Europa volledig te vernieuwen. Een van de belangrijkste discussies binnen Leadingcourses.com was: wanneer komt een combinatie van een golfbaan en een hotel in aanmerking als resort? Is St. Andrews met het Old Course Hotel een resort? Komt Royal County Down met het Slieve Donard Hotel aan de overkant van de weg in aanmerking als resort? Wij vonden van niet. We wendden ons tot Wikipedia voor een antwoord of op zijn minst een goede definitie: "De term resort kan worden gebruikt voor een hotel eigenschap die een scala aan voorzieningen biedt, meestal met inbegrip van entertainment en recreatieve activiteiten. Een hotel is vaak een centraal kenmerk van een resort" (bron: Wikipedia). Het hebben van een hotel en een golfbaan is dus gewoon niet genoeg om een golfresort te worden genoemd.

Criteria om in onze Beste Golfresorts in Europa ranking te staan

We hebben veel ranglijsten gecontroleerd met betrekking tot 'golfresorts', maar de meeste van hen wijzen niet echt op wat ze noemen. Dat wilden we veranderen. Dus, hieronder hebben we onze criteria opgesomd om in onze Best Golf Resorts in Europa rankings te staan: <ul><li>de beoordeling van de golfclub op Leadingcourses.com moet actief zijn, dus we moeten genoeg (recente) beoordelingen hebben.</li><li>de beoordeling van het resort of hotel op Booking.com moet ook actief zijn</li><li>het (officiële) hotel moet zich naast de golfbaan bevinden of op het terrein van de golfbaan.</li><li>het resort moet naast het hebben van een golfbaan meer faciliteiten bevatten (bijvoorbeeld een spa, tennisbaan, zwembad, etc.)</li><li>de golfclub moet expliciet het specifieke resort of hotel op zijn website vermelden of er naar verwijzen (dus een link naar meerdere hotels is niet nodig)</li></ul>De bovengenoemde criteria betekenen dat niet elk golfresort in onze lijst van beste golfresorts in Europa aanwezig zal zijn. Resorts die niet op Booking.com staan - en dus geen beoordeling hebben die online kan worden gecontroleerd - worden niet in aanmerking genomen. Resorts staan ook niet in de lijst als hun golfbaan of hun hotel/resort niet genoeg is beoordeeld (d.w.z. inactieve beoordeling). Toch is het een goed uitgangspunt en alle bovenstaande resorts kunnen worden geboekt via de site Leadingcourses.com, wat ook erg handig is! De totale waardering is 50% gebaseerd op de beoordeling van Booking.com met betrekking tot het resort of hotel zelf en 50% op de waardering van de golfclub in zijn geheel (inclusief de banen, faciliteiten, etc.) op Leadingcourses.com. Als de resorts gelijke scores hebben, dan bepaalt de rating van de golfclub wie er als eerste binnenkomt. We zijn allemaal golfers, dus dat vinden we het belangrijkste.

De lijst is de referentie geworden voor golfers in Europa die op zoek zijn naar een geweldige golfreis of golfvakantie. Sinds 2016 - als teaser voor onze Golfers' Choice rankings - publiceren we de ranking voor Beste Golfresorts in Europa. We hebben onze eigen beoordelingsgegevens en de beoordelingen van onze hotelpartner Booking.com gebruikt om een uitgebreide lijst van de Beste Golfresorts in heel Europa op te stellen.

We zijn er trots op dat we ook in 2019 de lijst van Beste Golfresorts in Europa kunnen uitbrengen. De lijst is de referentie geworden voor golfers in Europa die op zoek zijn naar een geweldige golfreis of golfvakantie.

Vi börjar med de 5 bästa golfanläggningarna i Europa år 2019. En stor överraskning i år eftersom vi har en ny etta: Trump Turnberry Resort. Det betyder automatiskt att Finca Cortesin har rasat ner till andra plats. Bowood Hotel Spa &amp; Golf Resort hamnar för första gången bland de 3 bästa och Monte Rei och Terre Blanche är 4 och 5 på listan över de fem bästa golfanläggningarna i Europa år 2019.

1. Trump Turnberry Resort Bästa golfanläggningen år 2019

Trump Turnberry Resort – Hem till turneringsbanan Ailsa – i South Ayrshire, Skottland har tagit första plats för första gången. Golfspelare ger golfklubben 9,4 poäng totalt och hotellgästerna ger hotellet 9,3 poäng på Booking.com vilket innebär 9,35 poäng i genomsnitt. Samma poäng som tvåan Finca Cortesin, men med högre poäng för golfbanan. Ailsa, som nyligen omvandlades till ett riktigt mästerverk av den erkända golfarkitekten Martin Ebert, ger golfspelarna en exceptionell golfupplevelse vid kusten, som du kan ha sett under någon av de fyra Open-turneringarna som har spelats här. Ebert var också ansvarig för layouten på den nya King Robert the Bruce-banan. Kombinationen av två enastående golfbanor, ett fantastiskt hotell och de allra bästa faciliteterna gör Trump Turnberry till Europas bästa golfbana.

De två föregående åren var Finca Cortesin etta på vår lista, men i år har de rasat till en – fortfarande mycket imponerande – andra plats. Finca Cortesin har 67 rymliga sviter, erbjuder en fantastisk upplevelse med nöjda kunder dag ut och dag in även om den kvaliteten kostar.

Bowood Hotel Spa and Golf Resort, belägen på ett utsökt vackert engelskt lantgods, är känd som en av de bästa golfbanorna i Wiltshire och är den officiella golfbanan för PGA i sydvästra England. Banan designades av den berömde Dave Thomas och öppnades år 1992. Hotellet ligger mitt i parken till Bowood Estate. När du ändå är där borde du göra ett besök på Bowood House &amp; Gardens, där Marquis och Marchioness of Lansdowne bor.

Monte Rei Golf and Country Club har alltid hamnat högt upp på vår lista över de bästa golfanläggningarna i Europa och i år hamnade de återigen bland de fem bästa. Servicenivån på Monte Rei är mycket hög och själva golfbanan är mycket omtyckt av spelare. Monte Rei kommer att börja bygga deras andra Jack Nicklaus-bana i år; det blir spännande att se resultatet. Jobba på bara!

I år är Terre Blanche Hotel Spa Golf Resort nummer fem bland de bästa golfanläggningarna i Europa. Om du tycker om god mat måste du absolut prova Le Faventia, Terre Blanches Michelin-belönade restaurang eller en av deras andra tre restauranger. De två 18-hålsbanorna där turneringar spelas designades av Dave Thomas och har inspirerats av naturen på plats. Underhållet av banorna på Terre Blanche kan inte vara bättre.

Hur bestäms de bästa rankningarna för golfresorter?

Vi älskar att analysera recensioner från våra användare för att komma med intressanta listor. Så här började rankningen "Bästa golfresorter i Europa". Med tiden har listan förbättrats avsevärt. Förra året bestämde vi oss för att helt uppdatera vår lista över de bästa golfresorterna i Europa. En av de största diskussionerna inom Leadingcourses.com var: när kvalificerar en kombination av golfbana och hotell som en utväg? Är St. Andrews med Old Course Hotel en resort? Kvalificerar Royal County Down med Slieve Donard Hotel tvärs över gatan som en resort? Vi tyckte inte det. Vi vände oss till Wikipedia för ett svar eller åtminstone en korrekt definition: ”Termen resort kan användas för en hotellfastighet som erbjuder en rad bekvämligheter, vanligtvis inklusive underhållning och fritidsaktiviteter. Ett hotell är ofta ett centralt inslag i en utväg ”(källa: Wikipedia). Så att ha ett hotell och en golfbana räcker inte för att kallas en golfresort.

Vi har kontrollerat många rankningar rörande "golfresorter", men de flesta av dem pekar inte riktigt på vad de listar. Vi ville ändra det. Så nedan har vi listat våra kriterier för att vara på våra bästa golfhotell i Europa: <ul><li>Betyget på golfklubben på Leadingcourses.com måste vara aktivt, så vi borde ha tillräckligt med (senaste) recensioner</li><li>Bedömningen av orten eller hotellet på Booking.com måste också vara aktiv</li><li>(officiella) hotellet måste vara beläget intill golfbanan eller måste vara beläget på golfbanans lokaler.</li><li>orten bör innehålla fler faciliteter förutom att ha en golfbana (till exempel ett spa, tennisbana, pool, etc.)</li><li>Golfklubben bör uttryckligen nämna eller hänvisa till den specifika orten eller hotellet på sin webbplats (så det är inte att länka till flera hotell)</li></ul>De ovan nämnda kriterierna innebär att inte alla golfanläggningar kommer att finnas på vår lista över de bästa golfresorterna i Europa. Resorter som inte är listade på Booking.com - och därmed inte har ett betyg som kan kontrolleras online - beaktas inte. Orter listas inte heller om varken golfbanan eller hotellet inte har granskats tillräckligt (dvs. inaktivt betyg). Ändå är det en bra utgångspunkt och alla orter ovan kan bokas via Leadingcourses.com-webbplatsen, vilket också är mycket bekvämt! Den övergripande rankningen är 50% baserat på Booking.coms betyg beträffande orten eller hotellet och 50% baserat på betyg på golfklubben totalt (inklusive banor, faciliteter etc.) på Leadingcourses.com. Om orter har lika många poäng, bestämmer golfklubbens betyg vem som kommer först. Vi är alla golfare, så det är det vi tycker är viktigast.
